Justin Bieber's new album banned in Middle East for promoting Christianity

Aren't you doing the same, pushing your vision on them?

And how are they doing that inside their own countries, Western pop stars can just decide not to sell/visit there at all. But they love their money. So...

My vision is that there should be freedom. So I'd say that's the "right" vision. Or is freedom a bad thing?

A woman covering up for religious reasons is freedom of choice but to demand a woman should cover up, even if she chooses not to present herself that way, is the moment something doesn't become a choice anymore so it's not a "vision" anymore by definition. Why do you think so many of us here in the West have a problem with women wearing hijabs? I see these girls on Tumblr who choose to do it and I think great, go ahead and do you, practice your faith, do it. But then I also read about 12 year old Muslim girls in the UK who get slut shamed by Muslim boys their age if they're not wearing a hijab already. The lines between choice and regime are completely blurred and that's why it's such a big discussion point in the world right now. What is acceptable and what is not? At what point does religious freedom become a religious regime we're all enslaved to?

In regards to Western pop stars visiting/selling in those countries: there's a demand for them, obviously. No one would bat an eyelash if they weren't popular in Arab/Muslim countries, the album just wouldn't get released. Labels are not going to spend money on distribution there without possible profit. Remember Jennifer Lopez and her entire Morocco situation? Classic case of demand in an Arab country for an artist who is known for two decades of booty-shaking and skimpy costumes and all of a sudden the government is outraged by her "behaviour". What did they expect? The "big big booty cause I got a big booty" song performed in a kaftan?

Let's get real here. Most religions degrade women, it's just a fact. You can argue and say no, it's because the woman is placed on a pedestal and has to be seen as pristine and virginal but that is no gift to no woman in 2015. And it's not just Islam. Look at Adam and Eve. She was made out of the rib of a man. Read: she's a part of manhood. She's not even half the person Adam is. She's the submissive gift given to Adam. It took us centuries to shake off that Christian ideal in the West and now it's at a turning point for the Muslim faith since it has "spread" to the West. Will we cope or will we overrule? I find it intriguing and have respect for anyone's choice, but only if it's a choice, not if it's to be submissive for any man at all. That's the discussion point. We can only hope for more powerful women in powerful positions and for strong role-models that will not get told by anyone, wether it's a religious group or an individual, what they can or cannot do.

And in regards to Justin (who is not a woman), the problem here seems to be more about the fact it's a Christian symbol on his chest, not the actual chest. By the symbol being forbidden, they take away his religious freedom, the very thing they use to defend their own decision. Therefor, the argument of religious choice or freedom is invalid. It's not my personal vision, it's the pure definition of freedom. It's not freedom when it is demanded. Never.

Oh, I thought you meant the COVER. The way you worded the first sentence, I thought you meant Bieber was making a mockery of christianity, my bad.

I absolutely agree with you

No, no. I was sort of escaping the topic and talking about how the Middle East is doing this on a larger scale.

I personally like the alternate cover more, but the other image is probably better for magazine ads, billboards, etc.

I understand it's their culture, but is this really what they plan to act upon..?  Of all things that they should be worried about.
