I've literally heard everything too and It really is different to everything prior to Halcyon Days sis.

No need to drag in the good sis Tove Lo. 

 

I love Tove Lo and was making a point. It's almost like calling the kettle black when I find their so called "basicness" very similar.

I too have heard everything from her and seen her live countless times so we don't need to play the 'bigger fan' game, it weakens your argument.  She has not changed however it is evident with this album she is going in a more pop approach.  I don't feel Ellie's presence on these songs as much as her older work largely because I liked her darker lyrics, not because I feel she is going 'basic'.

You've also done the exact same thing to Tove Lo there that you accused people of doing to Ellie; calling her basic.  

I like your point and I respect that. I was not calling Tove Lo basic. I was just stating that if people can call this music basic then we may as well call Tove's music basic (which I don't believe is true).

In the end, it's all subjective and I take back calling people crazy. I won't change anyone's opinion and no one will change mine. When I hear this music I never once thought she sounded like a sell out or she sounded "basic". Some other people are hearing something totally different.

  I appreciate that and I can understand what you mean, there has been a lot of "Ellie has changed" and bashing which is unfair because she is only trying something different.  OMM took a couple of listens but then it hit me and I loved it so I think this new track will be the same.  Change is hard man...

It definitely is. I can equate it to when I first heard Taylor's "I Knew You Were Trouble". Hearing her going from country to a full on Max Martin pop song was really weird, but it eventually sounded normal.
