Gaga has been showering us with classic cover songs

An interesting "common thread" I've noticed in Gaga's post-ARTPOP work is that she has been literally SHOWERING us with cover songs. Obviously, the entire 'Cheek to Cheek' album and concerts were covers of the Great American Song Book. But it goes much further beyond that. Aside from "Til It Happens to You", the last 18 months of her career have been filled with 100% cover songs. I'm not sure exactly what statement she's trying to make, but it's absolutely not a coincidence.

Here's a run down of all that I can recall:

- Chic "I Want Your Love" (1978)

- Andrea True Connection "More More More" (1976)

- John Lennon "Imagine" (1971)

- Edith Piaff "La Vie En Rose" (1945) + Grace Jones (1977)

- Sting "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You" (1993)

- Stevie Wonder "I Wish" (1972)

- The Sound of Music (1965)

- Cher "Bang Bang" (1966)

- 4 Non Blondes "What's Up" (1994)

- Whitney Houston "I Will Always Love You" (1992)

Shh, I'm still bitter we didn't get that HQ recording of 4 Non Blondes from the Hall of whatever.

Also, when did she cover More More More?

All we have is a clip, but she played it in the car in this Instagram video... But it's clear that she's made a studio version of it: https://instagram.com/p/6fqo89pFKY/

She's singing covers because she's carefully preparing her new music and she has nothing left to sing :\ That's all my mind can build up

When did she cover I Will Always Love You and More More More? More More More from her Instagram wasn't her voice.

Kevin Parker, Mac Demarco, Mark Ronson, and a stoned Lady Gaga. Need I say more?

Oh, thought it was something else.

This makes me wonder if she will put a few disco covers on the next album.

I think this is just because she wants the fans to get to know to classic songs!

Gaga did say that if you respect the artists that were before you in the past, then artists in the future will respect you. I think her main goal right now is to change her image from someone who is purely commercial based to an image of someone who is passionate about art. And any kind of art.

She sang cover songs with The Dirty Pearls as well.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
