Attacks on Jews rise to five-year high in Germany - more than any EU state

Living in Germany, I have witnessed a lot of recent hate crimes. Towards Jewish people, refugees, Muslims, and even Christians. It disgusts me how a handful of people ruin everything we have been trying to fix for almost a century now.

You all should have a closer look at this summary, where not only the total amount of antisemitism - mostly verbal or visual ones - as well as "violent cases" are listed.

Seems so, that France and especially the UK is even more antisemitic, if you have a closer look at these numbers:

France: 164 violent cases in 2014, compared to 141 violent cases in 2013 (overall: 851 in 2014, compared to 423 in 2013)

United Kingdom: 141 violent cases in 2014, compared to 95 violent cases in 2013 (overall: 1.168 in 2014, compared to 535 in 2013)

Germany: 76 violent cases in 2014, compared to 36 violent cases in 2013 (overall: 1.076 in 2014, compared to 788 in 2013).

Isn't it interesting, that the British Telegraph is especially highlighting the cases is Germany - even though the antisemitism is truly worser in the United Kingdom?

By the way: In Germany gets everything counted - especially the verbal and visual ones!

This is bull****! The real reason for these attacks is the growing muslim population in Western Europe. These statistics are totally manipulated for political purposes claiming that the far right is responsible. I live in Paris and I can make conclusions on my own and the only conclusions I can make is that jews are no longer welcomes here because of muslims and not because of far right supporters.

Even when the far right is responsible, isn't Muslim immigration the reason it is growing? When mainstream centre-right parties try to demonize concerns about mass immigration, the far right grows in influence.

Then you have strident anti-Israel sentiment from the far left as a factor too.

Do you know the classification of perpetrators for the hate crimes?  In terms of race, gender, religion, etc.

What is exactly the source of the British Telegraph?

Bitching about Germany - but spineless to talk about the higher figures of violent attacks in their own bloody country?

No, Simon. I just don't like the lurid headline and the typical anti-German undertone in a British newspaper, even though they are actually more violent towards Jewish people in their own country.

Doesn't really surprise me and it will only get worse.

Come to the US! You might not want to move to a few areas of the US, due to fairly current immigration patterns in those areas...but that would be a teeny tiny part of the country! 99 per cent of the country would be great!

jews in europe should think of moving to canada :chica: they're so nice up there

race where i live is hardly even talked about

Hardly anyone is really "canadian". IF they were born here odds are at least 1 of their parents werent

We add some 0.8% of our population per uyear from immigrants one of the very highest rates in the world.

Most of our population growth is from immigration. Toronto ranks #1 most multicultural city in the world

Not to sound cocky. But in terms of racism levels, acceptance and ppl not paying attention to that i think i live in the very best place in the world for that

Couples of different races are seen literally everywhere and no one looks twice

Oh yes because the FN loves Jews so much...come on how many of them are still revisionist and saying the holocaust is a small part of WWII like seriously... I am sure there is tension with Muslim too but the far right plays a part, they even make French people run away abroad because of their sickening views. (and honestly I don't plan to come back anytime soon if they get bigger...)

Interesting you say that, since i moved to Montréal I have never had that much "race talk" in my entire life! It's like the only topic to talk about, I didn't imagine it was such a big deal here and some community are segragating themselves... weird. And they call Europe racist (people who have been to Paris once lol)...when we don't even use the word race :flop:

Quebec :rip:

no offence but Quebec culture wise is its own thing from the rest of Canada.

Quebec is to Canada as Hong Kong is to the rest of China
