I'm baffled that this thread has inspired negativity ---- on Gaga Daily of all places. Lady Gaga **IS** Andy Warhol. It's inspiring and fulfilling to see that she is not shying away from that, in spite of commercial rejection. What more do you want from her? This is exactly the kind of stuff I show up for with Lady Gaga.

dont you understand gaga daily cant be positive for too long because they need their daily dose of shade/tea

idk what to put here

I'm seriously disturbed to think that there are a die-hard Gaga fans who believe her Warhol references are simply limited to the ARTPOP era. Her whole career has been built around him! Please recall the "Glitter and Grease" segment of the Monster Ball tour, which was 100% inspired by Warhol's 'Death and Disaster' series screenprints.

One of the many car wreck carnage images, as seen from Warhol's Death and Disaster series.

I'll stop here, but the list goes on and on....

These ongoing references to Warhol and pop art, infused with fashion + club culture + jazz + modern art are what make Lady Gaga so compelling. Her music, image, symbolism, and life's work all all one giant exploration of popular culture in all it's incarnations. She's the ultimate, living embodiment of a modern day Warhol.

Should she instead record a duet with Selena Gomez produced by Diplo? lol...

Did someone suggest that, King?

Sorry... Not intending to be offensive, but simply celebrate all that I love about Lady Gaga. She is so much more than a mere pop star. She is high brow, low brow, and everything in between. In the worlds of pop music, fashion and art. And she so readily gets written off as "shock value" by the masses that I'm unsettled when I see fans rejecting these ideals in favor of pursuing a new era. As Gaga herself said, there are no "eras" to her work. It's a continuum.

Not really, that is just the Tom Ford Spring and Summer 2016 collection being displayed on the fashion film.

You may think they did it on purpose but it is a bot of a stretch since striped shirt is so common.

That's the beauty of it, though. They've found a way to infuse modern fashion with Gaga's career-long inspiration. It's perfection. Hence this thread, lol.

A quick history lesson...

- Andy Warhol was a staple of NYC's Studio 54 night club scene.

- Chic was also at their peak during the Studio 54 era. Their biggest hit, "Le Freak" was written as a "**** you" to Studio 54 after Nile Rodgers was rejected at the door and went home, did a bunch of coke and wrote the song originally as "ahhhhh, **** off" (instead of the version released "ahhhhh, Freak out")

Gaga + Nile Rodgers doing a disco fashion show YouTube video with a Warhol lookalike is absolutely no fashion coincidence.
