I feel like only a predominantly gay pop music forum would suggest that Britney Spears and Madonna had more impact than Eminem and Nirvana in those repetitive decades lmao

MTE. There's more music than pop music. Mess at some of you discrediting Nirvana :excuseu:

Didn't some member claim that Gaga has had no influence on the music industry AT ALL some weeks ago? :green:

Yep, but that trolling talk from that member is gone for now.  Obviously, he was wrong. :lolly:

Kurt Cobain definitely defined the 90s. I agree that Gaga defined the first couple of years of the 2010s but I'm not so sure about afterwards. Only time will truly tell.

I'm no pop culture expert but it's kinda sad that in past decades these icons did have competence unlike Gags oh well :whitney:

Mariah should be the the 90s

She was the one who made remixes mainstream

Also she ushered in the pop song feat rapper trend

Not to mention she (along with Whitney) brought melisma to mainstream, which was huge upto 2008

More accurate should be

60s Beatles

70s Bowie

80s MJ

90s Mariah or Janet

00s Brit

10s Gaga

If anything there would only be one other option for the 90s and that would be the Spice Girls. If you haven't lived the 90s you don't know what it was like with Kurt and the Spices.

Weird list. I don't believe in one artist defining an entire decade. Though I can quite imagine that Gaga could be a lot of people's idea of the 2010's defining artist, we're only halfway through so naming her already is just ridiculous since you can't see impact like that until after the decade has finished.

Not saying she doesn't deserve it, but explaining how she defined the 2010s already halfway through just doesn't seem so easy to me, actually.

Anyway, good for her, that must be nice to read :whitney:
