MJ was iconic from 1980-1984 whereas Madonna was iconic for more of the decade from 1983-1989

Hmmm.. I still think MJ had more impact, but in that perspective it's fair enough I guess :koons:

also, Madonna had way more longevity. MJ's peak was only second to The Beatles but Madonna continued her success into the 2000's when MJ started to receive negative press in the 90's with the children and changing skin color

Eminem:

Eminem is the best-selling hip-hop artist of all-time[1] and the best-selling artist of the 2000s[2] with US album sales at over 32.2 million during the decade.[3] In total, with 2 digital Diamond albums and 4 albums with 5 platinum and 2 with 2 platinum. Eminem has sold 50.1 million albums in the United States as a solo artist and with 2 digital diamonds and 4 singles with triple platinum and 10 songs with one platinum and other features he has over 46 million digital singles.[4][5] His worldwide albums and singles sales stand at more than 155 million.[6] He has earned forty-two platinum certifications, five number one singles and six number one albums from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[A] In this discography, music videos and collaborations are included as well.

And that's that. Y'all can continue to seethe but Eminem is a Rap God and legend. He earned his spot. Britney was huge but Eminem beat her easily.

Congrats to Gaga! She has earned this. :applause:

Didn't some member claim that Gaga has had no influence on the music industry AT ALL some weeks ago? :green:

What should i believe? I'm confused.

Another day another slay. So much critical approval and the realest people telling the truth. She is the defining artist of 2010's, when will your commercial doll faves  We knew this for long, but it's nice seeing that everyone is agreeing onto this fact. 49302c4d.gif

Broke racial barriers, one of the most awarded artists, revolutionized music videos with Thriller, every modern mainstream artist sites him as a major influence, and even people who aren't exposed to the usual media/entertainment world know his name.

Thriller, 1982: Best selling album in history.
Bad, 1986: Second best selling album in history.
Dangerous, 1991: Fastest selling album in history (but I think that title has been taken by someone else now)
HIStory, 1995: Best selling two-disc album in history
Blood on the Dancefloor, 1997: Best selling remix album in history

The HIStory World Tour, 1996-1997, is his most widely viewed and attended tour.

In 2009 he came back from an almost decade long media black out to sell out 50 stadium shows in mere minutes.

He is the definition of longevity and impact. A couple lies and a skin disorder don't change that.

You're stinky
