Well, American culture is a thing. There's an unofficial official American culture I'd say.

But the US is multicultural in its core and that's what's so great about it imo.

I live in the most multicultural city in the world (yes Toronto ranks 1) and its so enriching to have so much diversity. No one here even notices race cause the blend is so great that u become blind to it...

 

in fact most people in most parts of the city are minorities because few cultures stand out

 

In portugal where i used to live... Lets just say selection of foods, entertainment etc often got tiresome

At the core are certain liberal Western values that are derived from Anglo-American history. Religious diversity is fine - long as they all accept First Amendment.

A liberal framework promotes diversity in private choices (food, s-xuality etc), but must discourage some kinds of radical diversity that would lead to Lebanon type conflicts.

Also people are less willing to support a welfare state when they thing people radically different are benefiting. Which is partly why US is more individualist than say Sweden.

Mess.  Probably not what he actually means, but Republicans seem to be ignorant and horrible at word choice and thinking about what they say before they say it this election cycle.

Canada controls it's borders and is fairly selective about the people it lets in. We don't take a lot of uneducated 3rd world refugees who would struggle to make it, then become an alienated underclass, then have tension with the majority over high crime or radicalization (which is the recipe for trouble in some Euro countries).

He expressed himself so badly. I think what he meant was that communities self segregating themselves was bad for integration. That's not rocket science simply common sense. But his definition of multicultural society is wrong. if he is against I am sure he will probably give up is nationality, find a boat and give back his land to the native that were here before him? Because he concluded that multiculturalism doesn't work right?

what ur saying is only partially true

 

 Canada has 2 types of immigrants (as most nations do). General immigration and refugees

 

for general immigrants Canada is quite picky on selecting high quality immigrants...

 

however for refugees, relative to our population we actually have one of the highest ratios of yearly refugee acceptances

Ok.. nah, but I think I understand what he was trying to say. Also his position on gun rights/ gun control will be the reason why conservatives will not vote for him even if he gets the nomination.

It's far too late for this, Jeb. Why don't you hold your hands up to stop the water after the dam breaks? Immigration was always going to lead to a multicultural society along with a globalized economy.
