she did a whole era with him, did all this promo about how much of a bond she has with him and loves him etc etc etc... She never did that with anyone else even artists she originally named as her biggest influences (never mentioned Tony before)

 

Cant help wonder if she chose someone so old to do all that with because an old legend like that will get lots of attention when he dies and he is 89

 

If he dies Gaga will get TONES of promo and attention cuz the media would interview her like crazy over her experiences with him etc... And when ppl look up his videos Gaga would be in most of them

Sis...what is this Tracy Flick realness?  If she was this shrewd in her thought processes she'd be outpeaking Taylor Swift right now. I think by now we can gather that the good sis seems to react more on emotion rather than strategy. 

Aside from a love of jazz, I think she wanted to please her parents initially, specifically her dad. As much as they love her I doubt their own musical tastes lean toward her heavy brand of electro and synth pop. It must have felt good to be performing something that they were also into. And most of all, if a legend like Tony Bennett wants to collaborate you jump on it.
