Riot Police Use Tear Gas, Water Cannons Against Refugees in Hungary

Hungarian riot police fired tear gas today at refugees who broke through the new razor-wire fence at the border.

A water cannon has also been activated and a police helicopter is hovering over the scene.

The special TEK Hungarian paramilitary troops followed. The troops are outfitted with sidearms, helmets, face masks, all in black uniforms.

The escalation comes as tensions reached a new high, with several European countries -- including Hungary -- enacting new restrictions barring most refugees entry.

Hungary has been on the opposite side ever since the beginning of this problem and even erected a new border fence to keep off refugees from entering the country. If anything their government acted according to what far right extremists want to happen.

Refugees got the worst treatment in Macedonia and Hungary.

Hungary doesn't want or accept them. Quite visible in the way they are beat up by civilians and treated by the media there. Hungary has been nothing but inhumane and you defending that is disgusting.

They won't get asylum in countries which are actually welcoming them, like Austria, Germany and Sweden if they're forced to camps.

You wouldn't respect these few countries in their place either, be realistic. They were not treated in human way.

No, Migrant would imply that they are just moving geographically for the sake of moving.

Those people are REFUGEES, seeking security for them and their families! Runnung away from WAR AND POVERTY !
