LoveandMagic 1,731
Absolutely ****ing loathsome. We as a society have to stop acting like men are animals controlled by their urges and it's the woman's responsibility to keep them in check. We are all capable of basic human compassion and thought. It's demeaning to act like all men have a uncontrolled hidden savage located within them and it's demeaning to suggest that women invite such violations. And not that it matters, but in one of my women's studies class we learned that statistics show most rape victims wear jeans or sweatpants. But even if they ran around naked, rape is rape. There is no such thing as "date rape", "legitimate rape," or "marital rape," and we should recognize this. Rape = rape. A violation is a violation, and this particularly heinous one leaves a lasting scar throughout their lives. I should know. There is no grey area as far as I'm concerned. I'm curious to what she would say to those hundreds of children raped by priests? I guess it's their fault too, all that wine flowing about, and in those cute silky outfits, right? Congratulations Chrissie, you've earned your (R) card. See you on The Five, despicable ****. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax." Whispering 18,865
Yet you're the one who keeps doing it...not me Plus...there were others who made a similar point to what I was saying yet you once again chose to respond to me? Arguing isn't discussing...I'm not here to argue There you go again. If you don't want a discussion, don't respond to me. I had already responded to other comments in this thread. I choose your comment because IMO, it was the most offensive to rape victims and therefore I wanted to respond with some statistics and facts. If you are going to participate in a subject of this nature, and blame rape victims for being raped, expect to see some comments back to you.
Kanye West 1,676
She's clearly talking about women being raped tho''The musician then implied that women who dress provocatively should take some responsibility if they are s-xually assaulted.''That is why I only mentioned men, I'm not stupid.I know. I just felt like it needed to be brought up because of how it's barely mentioned when it happens often. KANYEWEST.COM

Whispering 18,865
Back to my robbery example, although I don't know the stats, I'm pretty sure that forgetting to lock your doors is not the main reason they happen either. People will security systems get robbed, even Swiss banks get robbed. That doesn't change the fact that we all still lock our doors every day.Everyone keeps talking about how things should be but this is a discussion about reality, and unfortunately in our reality women are at risk of being raped, that's why they need to be extra careful and not make themselves easy targets. But statistics show that the women getting raped aren't primarily wearing their underwear on a dark street alone at night. They are in jeans, sweatpants, dresses, work clothes, casual outfits, jogging shorts and Tshirts. They are usually with a male that they know and at least somewhat trust. What should girls and women do? Not go on dates? Never get into a car with a guy for a date? Never go to a guy's room or apartment, to watch a movie or for dinner, even after multiple dates? Never invite a guy over for dinner, even after dating for a while? Never go jogging alone during the daytime? Never go out for a walk in their neighborhood, even in the middle of the day? Never walk out to the mailbox? Never walk across campus alone, even during the middle of the day or early evening? Never have a service man come to their home to deliver something or fix something? Never go out shopping alone...day or night? Never run to get take out dinner to bring home? Because these are the ways that women become a target.Should women stay in their homes at all times, unless accompanied by a male companion...and who will that male companion be, that won't rape them? It can't be a trusted friend or family member, because they can also be problematic. Well, I guess what we have is for girls to stay in their homes with their mothers at all times until they are in an arranged marriage (hopefully to a man that won't rape them) and they can only go out in public with their husband present and never leave his side when they are out. Also, they can't ever be around another man without their husband present, so no one can come into the home without their husband being there. There you go, a foolproof plan on "how to protect yourself from being raped".

Whispering 18,865
and that's not violent? They are abusing another persin's body without their consent. That's violenceExactly!Myth: If women were more cautious in avoiding strangers, they would not be raped.Fact: A study showed that almost four out of five rapes were committed by someone known to the victim. Only 22% of rape victims were raped by a stranger or someone they did not know well; 9% of victims were raped by husbands or ex-husbands; 11% by fathers or step-parents; 10% by other relatives; and 29% by non-relatives, such as friends or acquaintances. Myth: The primary motive for rape is impulsive s-xual desire.Fact: Studies show that the major motive for rape is power, not s-x. Sex is used as a weapon to inflict pain, violence and humiliation. Most rapists appear to have normal personalities with an abnormal tendency to be aggressive and violent. Between 2/3 and 3/4 of s-xual assaults are planned in advance.Myth: Women ask for rape by their manner of dress or flirtatious behavior.Fact: No woman deserves to be raped, regardless of her appearance or behavior. Since rape is a crime of violence, rapists choose their victims without regard to physical appearance.
PartySick 160,136
This is wrong. Rape can never be the victims fault By definition, it can't. If it is their fault, than it's just a s-xual mistake like a drunken one night stand tbh. Citing heels as a reason that it's a chicks fault if she's s-xually assaulted? Billionaires are a cancer. Even the ones you like.
