Women should be free to wear whatever they want without fear!

That's true, but if you had a daughter, would you let her walk alone in her underwear at night?

Because everyone walk at night in underwear?

No, I would tell her not to go out wearing it because it might be dangerous. This doesn't mean that if she got raped I'd tell her that she deserved it though.

Your question is unrealistic. Since people don't go out in underwear. :coffee:

I wouldn't say it's a victim fault but when you're half naked, drunk and without any company to look out for each other you just make yourself an available easy target.

The underwear example is what Chrissie used in the interview.

I wouldn't tell the victim that she "deserved it" either, but my point is, since we don't live in a perfect world without rapists, women who walk alone at night dressed provocatively are being silly.

So if a rape survivor were to punch this woman in the face can I suggest that it's her fault for saying something so offensive?

Not her underwear. That is wrong. In a miniskirt yes

You would let your daughter walk alone at night in a miniskirt knowing how often rape happens?

Anyone walking alone at night in their underwear is either mentally unstable or waaaay too wasted. :smh: (EDIT: Or it's Lady Gaga)

In that case, no person should let someone out of the house like that! (Unless it's Gaga)

Now, if Miley Cyrus walks out of the house looking a mess, that's just who she is (even sober) and even then she shouldn't expect to be s-xually assaulted.

Like...when I wear a nice necklace I shouldn't expect to be robbed, and that's not a fear I have when walking down the street wearing nice jewelry. It'd be nice if that same lack of fear for our possessions could be extended to our bodies, male and female.

Women who are fully covered from head to toe in countries that require that kind of dress get raped. Old women in their granny dresses and hose get raped. Women fully dressed in military attire get raped. Nuns get raped. Women in jeans and sweaters get raped.

The problem isn't what the women are wearing. The problem is that some men are rapists!

Men are also taken advantage of, and men don't necessarily have "provocative" clothing. (EDIT: I also want to point out a time where I was at a football game- in jeans and a regular gray t-shirt when a guy pulled me onto his lap multiple times and during one of those times he whispered "I'm going to rape you," in my ear. I left the game early.)

The incentive is almost never dress of the victim. A rapist doesn't sit on a corner waiting for someone s-xy in a skirt to walk by. Rapists are people who take advantage of situations, and statistically you are more likely to be raped by someone you know. People who go out with the intention of taking advantage of others aren't looking for someone s-xy, they're looking for someone they can manipulate.

Cocaine Heart

Women should be allowed to wear what they want to wear, they can't be expected to wear a burqa because of rapists.

We going to boo
