Guest
Meanwhile passengers in Turkey hit refugee children from Syria, German groups attack their housing, and other countries completely ignore this issue. Incredible, Iceland! You rock!
Luc 4,776
Some other? I think every country except Germany and Sweden (and Iceland obv. )Remember that this is an initiative of people, if it was up to the state they would only take 50 refugees.I think this way it could fix many problems coming with asylum seekers... this means instant integration, learning the language, only war migrants will be accepted (because honestly, who is going to accept an economic refugee from Montenegro?) and because it's particular it gives less room for right-wing populism. TiphEret 1,320
Some other? I think every country except Germany and Sweden (and Iceland obv. )Well Greece and Spain have for sure other things on their plate. It's very nice to want to take refugee but you also need to care for them and currently some countries can't do it it has nothing to do with moral or whatever. Russia is also unable to take refugees... they have an economic crisis and you have to remember that there are already millions upon millions of illegals in Russia from Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, etc.)But the West-European countries could definitly do more. mic 1,415
It's very moral and all and I applaud them. Sad thing is that they have just put their local culture to grave in a long run.

mic 1,415
Why are you saying that?look at Germany example, and Iceland has less inhabitants than this city. Muslim people have way more children than anybody else plus strong cultural identity. They do not accommodate to the place they live in, they just live as they used to. It's theoretically not a bad thing but they will outnumber Icelanders very quickly.i really do understand why these asylum seekers need to be hosted however things are not just black and white in this world. Especially when it comes to religion.

I know many people who immigrated there for economical reasons.
