Creyk 17,805
"It's brought new life into the way I perform my own songs because I want to do them even more differently than I already do, and that's something that people are vigilantly against in pop music" Erm At least we can expect her to re-invent her Poker Face and Bad Romance performances on her next tour I guess
Didymus 34,379
At least we can expect her to re-invent her Poker Face and Bad Romance performances on her next tour I guess Yeah, I'm super excited she said it But it's just not true that it's not done in the pop industry. I mean, Madonna has been doing it since the 90's
Jjang 2,262
Remember a week ago when I made a thread about Gaga reinventing her songs and you all roasted me
Jamie 608
She sounds defensive, since the ARTPOP area, she always uses interviews to make statement about how different and extraordinary and anti-everything she is. She should just stop justify herself all the time. you r a free b---h gagz
Didymus 34,379
Look, I'm a metal/Maiden fan and I've been to two Maiden concerts so I can understand where she might draw a parallel. But calling yourself the next (!) Iron Maiden is ridiculous. There are many bands and artists out there who have built a religiously devoted concert experience around their act, in all possible genres.Actually, I think there's even a big difference between Maiden fans and Monsters. While Maiden fans care about nothing else but the actual music (and will call out the band when they make bad albums - which they have), the actual quality of the music is usually on the backseat when Gaga is discussed.Anyway, the comment is just ridiculous no matter how you spin it. Calling her the next Madonna was stupid enough because she isn't the "next" anything. Madonna and Maiden are still doing their own thing, having a career of absolutely unprecedented influence in their respective genres from the start, Maiden the most in a musical sense. Gaga has had zero impact on music, so as a Maiden and metal fan I am insulted, yes, especially when it comes from someone who claims to be a metal fan. She should know the difference between how metal fans celebrate their idols and pop stans.

Bye 3,947
I can't with always the same people bringing up Madonna in threads. She was mentioned in the article but still it's always the same people
Alien Tulip 12,428
I cant believe people think Gaga's getting old? Like I dont get it, 30 is still fairly young and she hasn't even lived half her life yet. I mean since when is 30 old? nicki minaj, britney spears, carly rae jepsen, katy perry, beyonce etc are all in their 30s too and are they old? People make it seem like these women were born out of the stone age? Also that iron maiden comment, Gaga I love you girl but and this is coming from a person that's listened and watched iron maiden concerts before becoming a gaga fan. Alien Tulip 12,428
Yeah, I'm super excited she said it But it's just not true that it's not done in the pop industry. I mean, Madonna has been doing it since the 90's Even britney spears does it at the piece of me show I mean hell she even did a jazz rendition of oops i did it again at the onyx hotel back in 2004. This goes to show you that Gaga doesn't really do her research before spurting out bull****. Also I got a little uncomfortable with her comment about Madonna fans not being as loyal as iron maiden fans because I will never forget when madonna had a show somewhere in south america and they waited two days out in the hot weather sweating while it rained so if thats not passion then I don't know what is. Jjang 2,262
People are using the word "pretentious" and I do not think it means what they think it means.pretentious :attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed. She is claiming to have made a similar impact to IM when in reality she did not influence music. That is highly pretentious.
gagzus 15,852
I love the honesty in her answers, I love that she feels her music is a beautiful way to express her emotions tbh and I think she was trying to say the same about her acting a weird gags way lolI think that if she channels any repressed anger into dark scenes in the show she could do something worthy of an EMMY tbh. Finally, I admire her love for her metal bands and a desire to have longevity, my dad is still a huge metal fan and still goes and head bangs despite being 51, I hope we get to that point tbh. Yes, Iron Maiden don't really sell 20 million records in the mainstream but I think her concern is for us fans to stay and her to be able to play live for us... Which will work as long as she doesn't make metal music like Iron Maiden tbh since at least 85-90% of us are gay pop stans lol
Chic 20,830
pretentious :attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed. She is claiming to have made a similar impact to IM when in reality she did not influence music. That is highly pretentious.I was referring to its usage in regards to the first paragraph where she discusses conveying her feelings through music. Bio and Creyk were the ones who used the word in that context.
