She's just trying to make a name for herself by doing outrageous things :emma: seriously, telling students to shave their junk? That's just beyond.

But it showed those boys that keeping up the clean shaven standard in the adult film industry isn't maintainable in real life. You HAVE to grow it out in between shaves or you'll just be a bumpy mess. These boys didn't realise that, so she showed them. Literally. Shaving is a personal choice, not a standard. It's educational. The fact a parent was outraged because she encouraged the girls to take a look at themselves with a mirror is exactly the same. WHY is it beyond? We all have genitals, we're all s-xually active or intrigued at some point in our lives. Why not discuss it? Why NOT give the teenage guys the same treatment as girls. Girls get told to shave or wax all the time, just looking at any female popstar's stage outfits let's you know they had a full wax or shave. The pressure is there. Why not let the guys experience it for once?

Uh, no, it's not a personal choice when your teacher says "go home and shave your package". What's the point of that? The first time they tried it, they'd find out for themselves.

Very new age I'm sure. :emma:

Why are some of you attacking HER? Sure she's straight-forward but "making a name for herself". She's been a UN ambassador for over 15 years and has travelled the world demanding and discussing female rights, equal rights and asking governments for proper s-xual education. How is that a bad thing? Besides she has her own magazine in Belgium, has several television shows and she's known here. She's not trying to make a name, Channel 4 asked her and she revealed today she's in talks with the BBC about a full-on s-x education show.

That was AFTER they said pubic hair on women is gross. I can't believe you'd defend their poor attitudes (out of lack of proper education of cours but still poor attitudes) just because you think it's "wrong" a teacher would encourage someone to try shaving. It was made very clear to the students that it's an experiment and they told them they could always stop during the course. If they guys didn't want to do it, they could leave. It says so in the C4 disclaimer...

If she didn't tell them they probably wouldn't have.  The boys believed it was a girls responsibility to shave their pubic region or else it would be dirty and unhygienic. The teacher was just trying to make the boys feel the same responsibility. I think the point of that exercise is less of actually doing the act, but for the boys to feel that obligation that they impose upon their female counterparts.

I personally think that this woman is amazing. She might be blunt and open but that's what I like about her. Very nice personality too. She seems really fun to talk to.

Here is how love/s-x ed should go throughout life

1st grade: We learn about all different types of families, Gay, Single, Adoption, Interracial etc.

6th grade: we learn about all forms of s-x, safety, testing, s-xuality/gender, domestic violence, abuse, pregnancy, rape, abortion, pedophilia, hormones, counseling etc. Then later that year we take a test that doesn't count against us

9th - 12th grade: survery & questions

I know you think this may be young, but the younger the better!!!!!! If you wait too long then kids will be confused, it's better to give them a neutral & honest lesson so that nothing is weird to them & they know how to stay same, I wish this is how things went with me & it's so hard for LGBT youth since they have nobody to guide them :/

People are asking why same s-x education isn't being taught, but consider how people treat s-xuality. I can only speak of my own experiences, but in the States, we have a lot of schools that allow s-x ed to be taught in schools, but many parents don't want it funded nor want their kids to participate in any such discussion. Then you have the defunding of family planning organizations like Planned Parenthood, doctors that put their religious beliefs over their hippocratic oath, politicians making policies without knowing anything about medical procedures/practices or basic anatomy (with such outragious statements as saying a woman's body "shuts down" during rape and therefore can't become pregnant). That's not counting the hoardes of commercials aimed at women telling them that their privates are disgusting disease/odor traps. Sarah Silverman actually had a pretty good skit on it. Not to mention we are still pressuring young guys to get laid by 16 so they can be a "stud" by 18, and sending mixed messages to women that they are only worth something if they look like some **** star/super model and "ooze" s-xuality, but ah ah ah, they need to be as tight and virginal as possible (I hate that creepy crap some churches do by telling the girls to pledge their virginity to their dads). And that's mostly just in regards to heteros. Can you imagine if someone went up to the school board or some politician and asked about providing sources of s-x education for members of the LGBT community (let alone provide funding for it)? We have some many citizens and government officials that don't even see them as people worthy of full rights and in some cases, evil. Gay s-x is still fairly taboo.

Personally, I would love a comprehensive source for teens and adults to learn from, where they are free to ask any question PRIVATELY (not in a room with their peers) and get a full, honest answer (withOUT an agenda). I've yet to see it offered without some stigma attached to the organization.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

I remember how during high school in Spain, I got tons and tons of ''safe s-x'' talks and none of them said a word about gay safe s-x. They barely talked about AIDS or anything close to it and it made me feel so isolated in class.

This doesn't just apply to gay men s-x, I'm pretty sure queer women have doubts and questions when they're teenagers, questions they can't ask their parents, and no one every answers them during these talks.

Ah, heteronormativity.

there really should start bc some might be like " I'm not gonna get pregnant so i dont need a condom " they are endangering children tbh

It is better to start early so teens not gonna find out for the answers themselves.

So long the subjects they teach easy to understand without being explicit.

I'm surprised a conservative organization would even fund any sort of s-x ed, to be honest. I hated the s-x ed classes we had at school. They treated everyone like idiots, it was in a room with your peers so no one was going to ask any serious questions, and they ran through it very quickly. Basically it was, "women have a period, men get random boners, condoms aren't super effective, the pill alone isn't super effective (because it's often not taken correctly, but they didn't go too much into safe s-x practices), here's a quick list of diseases you can get, here's a few gross pics, no s-x is the only way to guarentee non-pregnancy, ask your parent or doctor if you have any other questions". That's pretty much it. Good luck having a private concern or serious question requiring a thought, because they rushed out of there and weren't really that interested being there to begin with. Combine that with all the positive attention the pregnant teenage girls were getting in the senior class and raging hormones.

Sadly, the most accessible way for any teen to learn about same s-x education is the internet, and that can be extremely dangerous because there is so much disinformation out there. I've found free health clinics or family planning centers and your own physician are the best means of getting accurate information (again, providing the nurse, NP, or doctor doesn't have a theological agenda), but teens may not have the means to get there. A lot of free clinics have informative pamplets and discreet numbers that can be called for questions.

That sounds about right. But to be fair, lots of people think if they scare teens, it won't happen. The areas with the most repression tend to be the areas with the highest number of unwanted pregnancies and STDs. Sex shouldn't be treated as something scary nor should our bodies be treated as something nasty or shameful, that's why we as a society get so many hang ups about s-xuality and wind up with confused, repressed, and bitter people that are easily exploited or exploitive toward others.

yes, that's amazing that's why she shouldn't be making crappy television programs like she did in the netherlands :saladga:

what was so crappy about them? I didn't think they were. She was just helping couples explore and revive their s-xlive.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
