lupegmonster 12
We all have been through the ARTPOP era. Or I hope at least. Gaga goes and throws us clues as to what it is. But does anyone have a sincere, actual grasp on the meaning. I am noticing that we were interrupted, and we weren't able to receive the full enlightenment of what thus utopia is. The media, the sales the rejection of the real MTV VMA concept performance. If none of this happened, would we have better grasped the idea. I feel that Gaga and the Haus have these big ideas and plots that never come to our eyes. I just would like to see through the cracks and know and experience ARTPOP's true potential. Barbados 1,004
ARTPOP is about bringing out your creative person and not trying to shove them away. Embrace your creativity. Don't be discouraged from being a painter, a singer or an actor/actress youtube.com/watch?v=BR5ZKUKVSEI delete the <wbr> bit
nativenewyorker 1,190
I guess ARTPOP for her is just combining fine art with commercial products. The whole reverse warholian expedition thing. It's strange because you don't really hear that with the music, save for the title track, G.U.Y., Sexxx Dreams, Do What U Want, Aura, and Swine. These songs have a serious message or at least a real substance that is mixed with a commercial pop sensibility.G.U.Y. being a feminism anthem and it's clever word play, Sexxx Dreams about the mind-f*ck you experience after f*cking somebody else in your mind and then seeing them in person, Do What U Want's bashing of the media while coming off as a s-x anthem, Aura's social commentary on Muslim women, Swine's serious message about rape. The rest of the music kinda drifted from being "ARTPOP" in my opinion. The Fame Monster is a really good example of this whole "ARTPOP" approach, except for Telephone.. depending on how seriously you take it's message about relationship smothering. Kermit 15,807
I remember her saying ARTPOP stands for "ARTISTIC REVOLUTION THROUGH the POTENTIAL OF POP". “For me, insanity is super sanity. The normal is psychotic. Normal means lack of imagination, lack of creativity.” ― Jean Dubuffet
