It was a thing 3 years ago. And why should Gaga confine her sound to what's trendy? She never did before, and she broke barriers in music by doing her own thing. I don't know what EDM is like on the charts right now, but if moving away from that sound also helps her success then I guess that's also a bonus. If it's not her voice that is shining, it is her great poetry and ability to make even the toughest straight guy sing phrases like "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick." But NA seems to be heading in an acoustic direction, but I feel with gaga she will go more of a rock ish kinda way like how she did on TF but in a more mature modern way.
