Gay Man Pulled From Home, Beaten By NYPD Officers Yelling “*******”

A gay Staten Island man is suing the NYPD after four officers dragged him from his home last month before violently beating him in the front yard while repeatedly yelling homophobic slurs.

Officers arrived at the home he shares with his 66-year-old mother to investigate a noise complaint. He had been arguing loudly with his brother an hour earlier, who had come home in an “obnoxiously drunk” stupor and left before police arrived to investigate the noise.

“As I’m talking to them through the screen door, they’re saying to come outside,” said Falcone. “I said, ‘For what?‘”

Falcone added that his dog began barking from inside the house, to which an officer said, “Get your dog out of here or I”ll ****ing kill it!”

Falcone also had surgery on his foot recently and was wearing a boot, but that didn’t stop the four aggressive officers from purposefully stepping on it after pulling him from his home illegally for a violent, unprovoked beating on the front lawn.

Falcone’s version of events was confirmed by a video obtained by the Daily News, which was shot from a neighbor’s window across the street. In it, Falcone is heard screaming for mercy while the officers mercilessly pile on top of him.

“They threw me against the concrete in front of my house. My first reaction was to try to get up a little bit,” Falcone explained. “While I was on the ground, I had mud and blood in my mouth. One [of the cops] said, ‘Don’t let it get on you, he probably has AIDS, the *******.’”

Falcone begged the officers to be careful with his foot during the beating, a request they took as an invitation. “They’re hitting me for no reason. One puts his knee on my neck. They were all piling on top of me,” he recalled. “I said, ‘Please, I just had surgery on my foot. One of the cops stepped on my foot. Another cop comes and steps on my head.”

Well I don’t know what to add. The story is quite demonstrative and predictable. #NYPD got the reputation as the most wild racist and intolerant gang, u know. It’s sad, it’s very very sad and disgusting. I feel sick and i guess u got the main message: Cops are against you all the time. Whenever u criminal or not. It’s a separate group which pursue its own interests, protecting and serving the ruling class.

*sigh* This is why I hate the bad ones so much. They make the rest look like ****. No, not all cops are against you, there are a lot of really good ones out there. A lot. But you don't hear of them because it's part of the job (like being in the military). I'm glad this was reported, but I wish people would stop demonizing all US cops everywhere when the vast majority are nothing like these scumbags. My dad and his cohorts voluntarily went down to the gulf to assist after Hurricane Katrina hit (MS was hit hard, but you never heard about it on the news), some went up to NY to assist after 9/11, or Nashville after the heavy flood a few years back. NY, Chicago, and LA are notoriously corrupt, and it's about time there was a huge cleansing there, on ALL levels, but not here. I have been raised by cops. My dads first case when he was detective was over a missing gay hairdresser, and he was praised by the local LGBT community because of how he handled the case (this is in the South). I've not heard a slur, or ill will  directed toward any minority ever expressed by any member of law enforcement here that I know. 

The problem often is that higher ranks won't do much about the few bad ones or corrupt org because its all about politics and "getting the job done" at any cost. Chiefs are appointed by mayors and can be gone with a snap of the finger, so guess whose interests they serve? A lot of lower ranked officers have families and are living month to month, and many complain and try to report the potential trouble makers, but guess how many of those trouble makers get in? Nepotism. My dad says even in their department, which is a fairly good department, it's all politics, as with any position of authority. Many of the good ones get shafted over for the incompetents, lazy, or the posturing douche-bags because their wives go jogging together. So what wind up happening? A case gets f*cked up, or someone is wrongly assaulted, etc. And the good ones see this about the happen but are pretty powerless. Then you have whole departments that are corrupted, and the only way to solve that is to do a massive sweep, top down, go through the ranks, implement new systems, put honest people in. But that won't happen, due to politics. There is no way the higher ups are giving up their cushy jobs, and know too many influential people to protect them. So nothing gets done, except maybe a few on the bottom take a fall. My dad actually left the first department he worked for, up rooting his entire family (and we were BROKE) to come to this one because he was fed up. He was one of the few good ones in that department. And this happens a lot. Why should the good ones continually suffer for the bad ones?  And it's always the same story, the good ones complain, they get demoted, fired, lose opportunities, harassed. That's why many cops stick together. Some are corrupt, and they stick with each other, but a lot of the good ones stick with each other for protection. 

The people that are hurt most though are the citizens. They lose trust in the department and are less willing to assist with pertinent information that could help get criminals off the street. Many good officers are frustrated with this, but as I've said above, there is not much they can do. Even the good departments face this because of stories like these (which should be reported).
