faux 2,190
Could it be possible that gay-themed emoji — where tiny boy and girl heads are depicted as kissing or with a heart in between them — actually promote homos-xuality and thus violate Russian law? Stop laughing. That is the burning question that The Federal Service For Supervision of Communication, Information Technology and Mass Media — the agency that oversees Russian media — is now looking into. Mikhail Marchenko, a senator in Russia’s parliament has called for a probe of whether such emoji, as they appear on Facebook, violate the country’s 2013 statute prohibiting “homos-xual propaganda” to the country’s youth. swordstalker 1,829
I feel like Russia is using a similar strategy as North Korea now ie., they're making increasingly ridiculous policies to make a caricature of themselves to cover up horrible human rights abuses. Does anyone really take stuff happening in North Korea seriously anymore? No, because Kim Jong-Un pulls crazy stunts like executing his defense minister for falling asleep an event. We've gotten to the point where that horrible movie "The Interview" was made that trivialized the suffering of millions of North Koreans and turned it into a comedy. I feel like Putin's heading vaguely in this direction, albeit under the thinly veiled guise of a democracy. So sad...

Bette Davis 12,742
Why don't you focus on your economy and your dwindling birthrate/shrinking population instead of magical emojis that might make someone suddenly decide they hate vaginas and love the D? Russia, I swear more irritating than Bad Blood Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.
