It is a collaborative album between Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett but it is huge enough to be considered a major Lady Gaga album in my opinion.

its not gagas solo record

#LG5

agreed but its not pop, i think we should start a jazz album count just like the pop ones. like keep them organized and separetly

No music is music. They shouldn't be categorized into different groups. Gaga might as well make another rock album and we would have to start a new group again if she does so.

It's not like Taylor divided two categories for her albums, one for country albums one for pop albums. So Gaga shouldn't do so either. Jazz or pop, they are studio albums coming from Gaga herself.

"TFM, it really was my second album" - Gaga on Kiss 92.5 interview

"Interscope didn´t want to put an album for me right away" - GAGA

"a number 1 in canada after 4 RECORDS you still like me!" Gaga on kiss 92.5

CASE CLOSED!

never though about it like that. if that were the case then yes, it shouldnt be separated, but its a duet album with Tony so that is good enough reason for me to separate them. i just like how TB+LG1 sounds. besides it acknowledges tony too

lol always fun to read peoples opinions on this.  in my opinion, who cares what others classify what as, if you got your own system then good enough.  don't need to preach towards others to follow your opinions in this case

this may help clarify some things with some people out there (yes, its wikipedia, but still has some info that may help clarify some things)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_play

"According to Recording Industry Association of America, an EP is defined as 3-5 songs OR under 30 minutes, whereas a single is allowed to contain up to 4 songs"

so... the fame monster has 8 songs, 3-5 more than an EP, AND (not or) it times to be around 36 minutes (rough guess from my memory), around 5-6 minutes longer than an EP, so with that being said, and Gaga herself saying its a stand alone album (don't let the title of "the fame" attached on it fool ya! although its sort of a cool concept that it does sorta bounce off from there to create some continuity while being seperate) and with the whole different concept from the fame with 4 singles in total wordwide (bad romance, telephone, alejandro, dance in the dark in some regions) i think it's safe to say it's an album.

cherrytree sessions, very gaga holiday, all include no more than 4 songs and are less than 20 minutes therefore are only considered EP's and not full albums

for me, cheek to cheek isn't one of her official studio albums in her repertoire, but sort of a special/inbetween album like they do in korea (being korean, i'm accustomed to .5/special albums such as remix albums, cover albums, duet albums) as there's still a few songs that doesn't include her at all, so she's still sharing the album role with tony bennett.  yes its an official studio album, but just makes more sense for me to consider it a side album.  to each their own

That's like Pretty Girls is not one of Britney's main singles because it's classified as "Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea".

Nah. As long as she's a LEAD on the album, then it's one of her main albums, regardless of who is with her on the title.

OHMYGOD THANK YOU.

I always fail to see how people can say Cheek to Cheek isn't part of her main discography just because it's with Tony. It's part of both their discographies, not a new one called "LGTB"...It has more tracks than two of her previous albums, an era that's gone on for longer than a year, won a Grammy, and has a sold out tour ending tomorrow.

"It's not a main album, it's a side project"

Sure, Jan.

OT:

LG1 The Fame
LG2 The Fame Monster
LG3 Born This Way
LG4 ARTPOP
LG5 Cheek to Cheek
LG6 ????????

nobody gives a **** what monsters or gaga consider it, it was released as an EP AND THAT ALL IT MATTERS.

By industry standards The Fame Monster is a stand alone album, even though it did expand on The Fame. An EP (3-5 tracks) is the next step up from a single (1-3 tracks) which makes The Fame Monster (8 tracks) an album (6+ tracks).

Heated moment over :green:

I've said this before.

It's her 4th solo LP

It's her 5th LP

And it's her 6th era

I'm just going to call it her next album until we get the title.
