(Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice) Also, "Latinos are victimized by police killings at a level 30 percent above average and 1.9 times the rate of White, non-Latinos." It goes right back to the problem of valuing one group over another. If the majority and minorities were flipped, the same problem would emerge in this competition of focus instead of coming together to set policies and rules that benefit as many as possible whether a majority or a minority.True equality comes from equal treatment that the greater populace can agree on.For example, if officers were forced to follow rules of engagement to avoid acts of brutality in every operation they undertake, the issue of police brutality for the black, Native American, Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, European, and South Asian groups would be addressed so that the problem doesn't happen again with another group. What happen to police officers having nonlethal weapons and why aren't those being used over guns, lethal force? Stand in the light, cast your shadow.
