Music is dead and, if you believe Sinéad O'Connor, its killer is Kim Kardashian West.

The outspoken singer-songwriter is taking aim at Rolling Stone for choosing Kardashian West - a non-musician - as the cover model for its July issue.

In an expletive-filled rant against both Rolling Stone and the reality star, O'Connor angrily wrote on Facebook: "What is this c**t doing on the cover of Rolling Stone? Music has officially died.

"Who knew it would be Rolling Stone that murdered it? Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh can no longer be expected to take all the blame. Bob Dylan must be f**king horrified. #BoycottRollingStone"

O'Connor famously traded sharp-tongued letters with Miley Cyrus throughout October 2013, and slammed U2 as "terrorists" for releasing their album for free through Apple last autumn.

Well before his mention in her latest missive, X Factor boss Simon Cowell has been a frequent target of O'Connor's scorn in recent years as well.

Rolling Stone isn't a magazine just for music though, it's about pop culture in general and Kim Kardashian's definitely a BIG part of that

It seems like she's always trying to bash people. First Miley, now Kim.

Sinéad O'Connor seems like a c*nt to me tho:queenga:

She's thirsty for publicity tbh.

Isn't she just saying what everyone thinks tho?

God, she's annoying. Music doesn't "die." I dislike the Kardashian's a great deal, but let's not get so dramatic. There's plenty of good music out there and a lot of it isn't mainstream or commercialised. It isn't DEAD just because a Kardashian covered Rolling Stone.

By the time you reach the end of this sentence, it'll be too late to realize I just wasted your time with a pointless sig.

Welp tell us what you really think Sinéad :deadbanana:

Although worded harshly and hyperbolic(she's not killing music ffs), I totally get her point.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

Music is changing all the time...just because she doesn't like the current state of things (which I don't as well), it doesn't mean that it's dead...

Now, it's sad that ppl can't differentiate artists from reality stars anymore - they're all just "celebrities", just someone put there for ppl to scrutinize - and it's even sadder that Rolling Stone, by putting Kim on the cover, is doing the same mistake...it could be also that they understood that putting a figure like Kim on the cover sells, which is so desperate...

Anyway, she's partially right...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about Kim on the cover, BUT she is part of POP culture. But definitely doesnt mean we should Boycott it :hunty:

But I'm talking more about everything else like,

1. "Music has officially died." She's taking it too far here tbh.:later:

2. O'Connor famously traded sharp-tongued letters with Miley Cyrus throughout October 2013, and slammed U2 as "terrorists" for releasing their album for free through Apple last autumn.

3. Well before his mention in her latest missive, X Factor boss Simon Cowell has been a frequent target of O'Connor's scorn in recent years as well.

She just wants attention. :saladga:
