Even Hilary Duff who hasn't released anything in 7-8 years managed to debut at # 3 with no promo other than 2 or 3 weak performances on daytime tv and a video advertising Tinder. :excuseu:

Pink flamingos always fascinated me.

The best ever lesson in what to call your album - never call it anything that alludes to hits or certifications. This has happened too many times to the point where I don't know why artists still bother. They weirdly seem to wait until they're past their peak before naming their album something like Platinum Forever or something. Like, you should have named your earlier releases such a thing when they had a chance. I think the album's title also shows how the music industry is really struggling now when we consider gold certifications to be the pinnacle of success, as opposed to just a given like it used to be. By US standards anyway.

No doubt Tyga and his people will probably blame this on streaming killing the music industry seeing as it supposedly had millions streaming it but only 1% of them actually bought it. They'll never actually think it's something to do with poor quality, something that more artists should really wake up about. It's not so much that streaming is stopping potential sales, it's just that people don't want to be ripped off anymore. Tyga was never big anyway. Even in the US, his highest charting album only went to #4 and his one and only solo hit only went to #7 (sold 4 million in the US, but still, it's his only big achievement). This album didn't stand a chance at being a hit, certainly not on an independent label.
