It's my favorite and I've listened most of the known commercial pop masterpieces. And no I don't think ROL is better cause then I would stan for Madonna more.

The lies.

Irony (in regard to: madonna's albums don't impress me but I've ranked one of them 9.25/10), just like there's irony in you complaining of others' pompous arrogance :hunty:

First of all, my response in regards to this thread specifically was aimed at user 'hmmm' I used you as an example for previous postings since you are one of the few notorious sometimes crazed Madonna stans on this forum. Your names inclusion in my post had nothing to do with what youve said in this thread because I didn't even read what you posted here.

And as for what I bolded, both The Fame and The Fame Monster could be considered among the low end of a list of the greatest pop albums of all time. So in fact you are wrong when judging by critical evaluations.

But at the end of the day one of the indirect points I was trying to make is that a lot of opinions about Madonna and a majority of albums listed as "the greatest pop albums of all time" are nothing more than sensationalism and people with opinions like you and I trying to force theirs on everyone else. I don't genuinely see critical evaluations as important personally, but unfortunately in terms of pop star stats they hold some value. But it doesn't really mean anything. So someone saying Ray of Light is one of the best pop albums of all time just because of reviews doesn't mean any more than someone thinking Born This Way is one of the best pop albums of all time. Its all just personal opinion and sensationalism.

Basically this long ass post added nothing to the nothingness of your original post. Whether you genuinely value professional criticism or not is completely irrelevant to their value, which again, I only use as a form to validate / back up my opinion and no more than that.

And no, my critical evaluations were not off. There's a fine matter of difference between receiving generally positive reviews and receiving widespread acclaim. (from professional music critics).

Ray of Light even made it to the cover of Rolling Stone's top 500 greatest albums of all time.

4779409c8c0f2c3c8cb2e51da1ea399867251686

-#241 on NME's top 500 greatest albums of all time (published in 2013).

-#120 on All Time Top 1000 Albums (2000s)

-Included in the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die list

Now I'm not saying that you're forced to agree with the critics, but to say that its absolutely meaningless is ignorance on its own. These are people who's careers are based on the study of music quality.

maybe it's time some of you moved to Madonna Daily or something :saladga:

I swear certain people here spend more time kissing Madonna's ass talking about Madonna than Gaga.

So confusing. When I became active here (during the BTW era even) the majority of members would never have agreed with the idea of BTW even being a good album :rip:

The Fame is still her best to me so the answer would be no, but I have no idea reading the OP/thread who those major pop girls are and who aren't (Sia/Robyn would have better pop albums than Gaga imo, but I can imagine they don't count) so lemme just leave that open.

Of course it's a matter of opinion and I personally think that no, it's not.

Born This Way, Edge Of Glory and Marry The Night are great songs but as a whole album it didn't really work for me personally.

The Fame Monster is probably the best, with Loud by Rihanna and Sasha Fierce by Beyonce being up there.

Yep, I agree. It's one of those albums you can't appreciate until later on. It never gave me the buzz that TFM did but it's still timeless and I appreciate the themes and lyrics.
