RBNLM 1,647
It's not that suprising. After all Italy is still the center of christianity, and we know how religious people and gay activists are against each other. I think the LGBT situation will never be solved. There will always be d*ckheads who will spread their sh*t thoughts about us.christianity =/= Catholicism

Bloody Matt 5,423
As an Italian (and a homos-xual), I'm so ashamed.This...
Hurem 17,801
It's kinda no surprise because of Vatican, Pope, etc. But it's still so sad to see people hating homos-xuals for simply being homos-xual. :/
hmm 979
wtf Italy Also the Catholic majority is not a reason for that because like 80% of Spanish people was Catholic when the government allowed gay marriage. This too, Ireland is overwhelmingly (~85% apparently) Catholic as well
JanPianoMusic 730
This is so sad, why go back to the past and take people's rights away? Come on! I hope this reminds people who do not live in Europe that our continent is not made up of only open-minded people, because it frustrates me when people say "In Europe, it's okay to be gay" and "In Europe, people don't care as much about s-xuality". There are more than half a billion people in the EU alone, we are not some open-minded monolith! You will never please everyone.
teenagechrist 2,853
They will never understand that we are not interested in turning people gay, the whole idea is so stupid that it makes me sick. My parents are heteros-xual, I've been raised in a family full of heteros-xuals, and I've grown up in a hetero society, and I am ****ing gay. If they have not been able to have an influence on me to turn straight, how am I able to turn their children gay? Some people need to grow the **** up. feeling so hot tamale

There are more than half a billion people in the EU alone, we are not some open-minded monolith! It's true that the new 'European dream' or even 'Scandinavian dream' is obviously not real and that we do still have a lot of social problems as a continent, but in Northern Europe in particular the countries are some of the most progressive on the planet in terms of gay rights. Unknown A 64
It seems like it's the same problem in most of homophobic countries, they need to teach their people what s-xual orientation/Gender identity/Gender Expression is first. Because it seems like they basically don't know these. I don't like activists' "Focus on Your Own Family" attitude , not that it's wrong but they can choose a different and easier path while dealing with homophobic people hope they figure it out
Truth 90
I see their point. Italy have many more real and urgent issues to deal with than gay marriages etc. People can be angry as they are neglected like that,
Luiz 4,253
christianity =/= Catholicism"Worldwide, the three largest branches of Christianity are the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church and the various denominations of Protestantism. The Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox patriarchates split from one another in the schism of the 11th century; Protestantism came into existence in the Reformation of the 16th century, splitting from the Roman Catholic Church.[23]"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity all under the umbrela of christianity but just a different sect, well the first sect i think I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.
