I think she's just being honest and straightforward. She doesn't really know how Gaga acts so she's only talking about what she does know which is that the other aspects of the show's production are great.

I wouldn't make generalisations, I don't watch AHS and I don't really know about Jessica Lange but I don't see anything wrong with what she has said. I don't even know what you guys would want her to say. 

Gaga isn't known as an actor, Jessica Lange's comments seem very fair. She doesn't know how Gaga is as an actor but knows that she will have a great team of writers and co-stars to help her.

She isn't familiar with Gaga as an actor, she doesn't know anything about the characters, plot or what they are doing with this season. But that she believes it will all work out and that Gaga has a great start with the wonderful writers and actors that she also had the privilege of working with.

I think there are some people looking far too deep into what she hasn't said. For her to come out saying "Gaga will be a great actress! She is just so incredibly talented and perfect for the role!" would be disingenuous and fake considering she doesn't know what Gaga is like as an actor and she doesn't know the role she is playing.

You can't expect Gaga to get praise for this role before it has started, she is not an established/respected actor. This is not the field that she is known and respected in, it is new territory for her. People are expecting that Gaga be treated like she is Meryl Streep, but the truth is nobody knows how skilled she is as an actor and she needs to earn her stripes.

I think Gaga will be just fine when the new season begins to film.  Let's not forget Gaga is a perfectionist so she's probably taking private acting lessons for all we know.

But, most coaches usually make it a point of telling their clients not to reveal that they've been trained. So if Gaga is rehearsing her ass off this summer, there is a good chance that we'll never know about it.

Right!  I believe Gaga is working with an acting coach ATM and she will definitely surprise us this fall with her acting skills!  Besides, I'm sure Taylor Kinney is giving her pointers as well as Sophia Bush, since they seem to have gotten close as a result of Taylor's working relationship with her.

With credit to Jessica Lange, who really cares what the hell she thinks? 

Second , it does come off as bitter or superior.

But when you are good at your craft, 

you can speak about it how you want.

She wasn't even rude. Not everybody religiously follows Gaga like we do, so wondering whether or not she's ever acted is a perfectly normal thing for her to bring up

Lange hasn't stated any opinion, that's what she said indeed, that she just can't say anything because she hasn't seen her acting yet. I guess that's coherence, not shade.

And honestly, i don't think the Jo Calderone monologue can prove anything. To perform in a musical way isn't the same as performing in a 'pure acting' way. We'll have to wait and see. I bet she'll do it well !
