Applause and G.U.Y. were the best music videos Gaga's ever made. The concept was too artistic for some people to understand.

all her albums lack it. it's a 70s style "packed" order. it's just that she hasn't yet had good enough of an album to make it work. should feel like a party. she's getting there really.

The thing is that with ARTPOP you can say that everything is connected because: it is what she feels about art.

But you have three songs about that (Aura, Applause, ARTPOP). The rest of the songs have nothing to do with it.

But it is eassier to say that they have because: it is Gagas vision of art.

Born this way is the same, but still you have coherence on the style, the production, etc (which ARTPOP doesn't)

The Fame Monster has a song called monster which talks about a boy with a big D who wants to **** her. Then ypu have bad romance which is about a relationship, then you have a song about people calling you nonstop when you are at a party....

and the same happens on TF.

but still, the production and style are very well defined on both.

You can't do an album talking about one thing in 15 songs. I mean, that would be boring.

But what makes it cohesive is the music. And ARTPOP is the least cohesive. (I LOVE ARTPOP, btw).

You all know how much I LOVE to drag BTW, but I have to say that the album indeed IS coherent, BUT, guys, BUT, ARTPOP is as much coherent as BTW and basically has the same underlining message, it's just not so obvious and that's one of the many reasons I love ARTPOP much more

It's not that ARTPOP isn't coherent, I'll give you that. It is coherent. But Born This Way's message is far more interesting, complex and coherent. ARTPOP is about her life, and how she loves art and luxury. All the songs have this sort of line of thought. But it doesn't go anywhere beyond that, it's almost shallow.

ARTPOP seemed like a mixtape of different artists with different messages. It just didn't flow together well at all.

Born This Way was super deep, dark and complex, connected together through the inspiration found in religion, love, faith and disenfranchised communities.

Scheiße did fit on Born This Way's concept, it's actually one of the songs that follow it the most.

Also I don't think every song on an album should talk about the same theme, there has to be a central concept but there can be other songs which don't fit that concept. Although I do think songs like Judas or Bloody Mary are related to BTW's theme.
