American filmmaker Sean Mullin has confirmed that for over a year he has been working on a screenplay for Britney Spears, which is now in development with Smart Entertainment and Five By Eight Productions (the team behind 'Ted', 'Family Guy', 'The Cleveland Show', 'Anger Mangement', 'The Ringer', 'My Boss's Daughter', 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua', 'Blades of Glory', 'American Dad').

"Untitled Britney Spears Project"

PROJECTS IN DEVELOPMENT --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Untitled Britney Spears Project” Writer/Director: Sean Mullin Producers: Britney Films & Smart Entertainment (“Blades of Glory”) Logline: A romantic comedy about a wealthy, feisty young woman who mocks her infertility by adopting three children behind her husband’s back – only to learn that you can’t put a price tag on true love. SOURCE ----------- Five By Eight Productions is an award-winning production company based in Los Angeles where Sean is

"SEAN MULLIN: One of my first screenwriting jobs, I was hired to write a screenplay for Britney Spears, so I worked with her for about a year. In order to prep for that job, I watched every romantic comedy that’s ever been made. There are so many horrible romantic comedies out there, and I learned everything not to do from watching all of those. I did want to take a couple jabs at them. I did think there was something kind of ironic about a character who sells these cheesy kind of movies on Ca--l St. and is unwittingly caught up in her own love story."

I remember when everyone hyped up Crossroads. I always wondered why she didn't do more films then, it wasn't like Crossroads was anything other than a vanity piece to promote her self-titled album (which is fine, by the way). She was probably at her peak then and fielding all sorts of offers. True, she's not the greatest actress (to put it mildly) but that doesn't stop other singers/terrible actresses from getting leads in films (won't name any names). So I always wondered why she didn't pursue acting more. It wasn't like her management wasn't working her to death, you would think they would be trying to get her into stuff like that. Of course for her sanity I'm glad they didn't, she was already so stressed back then.

Oh well. Good luck Britney. :)

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
