Maybe ARTPOP deserved its "underperformance"

I don't even consider ARTPOP a Gaga album. Just a period in her career. A cleansing of the fan base. A media circus. Not an album. The music didn't stand out or speak for itself & was ultimately overshadowed by the tragic era itself.

ARTPOP sounds dated and Gaga really alienated the GP with her artsy fartsy things.

And pls don't blame DJWS. Maybe he's just following orders from Gaga.

ARTPOP is her second best album after Born This Way. BTW > AP > TFM > TF

:rip::toofunny::deadbanana: I can't find the perfect emote or gif for this one

Actually, it's not over until the next POP album comes out.

A new thing has to happen which makes us forget about the old one, that is how it works with album cycles

Sure jan

By the time you reach the end of this sentence, it'll be too late to realize I just wasted your time with a pointless sig.

I think the production sounds about as much like 2013 as The Fame Monster sounded like 2009, and so on. The production cuts deeper than her previous work, and has a harder, more muscular feel overall. This "dated' stuff is nonsense.

As for the songwriting, I actually like that no song (aside from "DWUW" and "Applause") could possibly fit comfortably on the radio, and doesn't sound like a Hit. It sounds like Gaga doing her, and not caring if everyone can instantly find themselves in the song. That said, I think every song on the album is relatable, but not nearly as obvious and straightforward about it as "Born This Way", for example. It's her most seductive and impenetrable album to date for this reason, and that is what I respond when I hear it.

The original ARTPOP concept was way better than what her label did to the current concept. I still love ARTPOP tho, but I get your points.

what was the original ARTPOP concept?

I saw where she favorited this the other day, and it made me happy. Queen knows ARTPOP was a masterpiece! :legend:

You really think that ARTPOP sold less then the predicted, because of it's ''poor quality''?... :awkney:

I just laughed out loud.

ARTPOP. WAS. NOT. A. SMASH. JUST. BECAUSE. OF. THE. ALWFUL. MANAGMENT.

You guys, need to stop trying to act like her managers. She is Lady Gaga and she knows far better then you, sad people, how this f*cked up industry works.. So please, stop trying to give some smart advises on how to sell better. It's like a turtle teaching a bird how to fly.. extremely pathetic.

.....just let that sink in.....

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

I really thought this in 2013 also, because i really loved ARTPOP.
But now it's 2015 and it looks like it's only NOW that i've seen that her previous works are better :flop:

This is what makes me laugh when people are like "She needs to release good music, where's the good music" as if that means anything. It's like, girl, Gaga knows her record is good and she continues to stand by it. Enough is enough.

I really don't think that The Fame Monster sounds 2009 at all, but i guess that's just how you see/hear things  Except for DWUW and Applause, i feel like TFM sounds even less dated in 2015 than ARTPOP does!

It's great that Gaga doesn't really care about radios and so on, but we all know that in the end : SHE WANTS SUCCES, just as every musician. And what i had a problem with is more that she said herself that "every song was made for radio" (something amongst those lines), when it's truly not the case

I mean Venus on the radio? I like the song but i don't see it tbh :emma:

And in a few years, perhaps you will come around to appreciate it more. Once art is put out there, the piece remains the same, we are the ones who change.

A lot of people seem to think "good" just means "catchy" and gets played on radio a lot.
