I feel bad for her

i hate how Azealia has made this all about race and stuff

i get it in the past she has said stuff and she is "appropriating" black culture.

but so much hate? Man the world is fuccked up and then there are questions why no one is tolerant or loving. I mean you should lern to forgive.

The reasons people present for hating are sad. She try's to be someone she's not? Who cares. Give it a rest!!

i'm not her fan. I only listen to Fancy/Black Widow/Problem. But I feel sad for her. She seems nice. Give it a rest!

I agree with you, for the most part. I think it's expected and deserved for her to receive backlash, but I also hate how people nowadays don't allow others to redeem themselves.

Speaking out against Iggy and her choices that are insensitive to black culture- good.
Not letting her move on or accepting her for changing as a person- bad.

If we're going to cut people down for doing the wrong thing, we should build them up when they decide to make it right. Give credit where credit is due, and don't force someone to live in their past.

Thank you. :tea:

I wonder how old she was when she said whatever she said, versus how old she is now. There is something to be said for kids... being stupid. And then growing up and maturing, you can't hold people accountable for stuff they said when they were actually young. But again, I don't know the ages in question here.

By the way, to everyone who says she seems really sincere here... I'm sure the sentiment is accurate but you're assuming she wrote this herself, and a lot of times it's PR people who write apologies. This one is very, very standard.

The meta-lesson here for future stars isn't good.

Avoid saying anything controversial or political. Be bland on twitter. Don't engage with non-white culture if you are white. Let's all be Taylor Swift and just write break up songs  PC will give us the the most bland and sanitized and apolitical pop culture ever, until people get sick of it.

The real result of the anti-cultural appropriation kick will be less exposure to hip hop themes for white audiences and less commercial success for the rap genre. Conservatives won't mind that a bit!
