Week 13: Best-selling albums in 2015 so far, as of the week ending March 29, 2015:

Albums selling 500,000 units or more this year so far = 6

Swan Heart

Who calls their album 'Title'? :awkney: Like seriously?:blehga:

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

So Meghan, who music sounds like the era Madonna was born (1958), is outselling Material Girl by over 3-1 in albums! Retro is in (see Uptown Funk), maybe Madonna should have tried that.

The chubby uncool girl is beating the eternal-wannabe-cool-kid fitness-fanatic.

I'm just reflecting on the huge contrast between the 2 major 2015 pop girl releases. I think Madonna would do better with more retro music, and it's harder for her to be relevant when youth are into - not Gaga or Britney - but Taylor and Meghan who are so unlike her in image and music.

But it's true! Madonna is the biggest fitness freak in all pop music, she even opened a chain of Hard Candy gyms. Meghan sings about accepting yourself with a few extra pounds, and does videos where she is a 50's housewife scrubbing the floor.

You don't have to be shading one or the other to LOL at the contrast. (I have glamour girls and nerds alike among my faves.)
