Besides making more money. She doesn't seem like the person to do this. Even Ellen made her own label.... Exactly. Unless she finds a bunch of artists who become top artists, she is just starting up a business. It doesn't mean she is magically going to be successful with this venture. It's not really that big of a deal, its just a subsidiary of Capitol. So capitol basically owns her so called "label". Im guessing it's just a branding strategy for both katy and capitol. Madonna was one of the founders of Maverick Records, which had Alanis Morissette on it, among others. Madonna used to have 2, under Warner Mysic, Maverick being wellknown one. All now closed. She signed few good artists including Michelle Branch. And so many people have their own label.
