I find the album a little more depressing than light.  She keeps saying let the light in but after a full listen I feel like I may as well start buying my cats now... 

Saying that, there are some incredible tracks on the album but it doesn't feel as fresh and new as I had expected.

I really like International Smile and This Is How We Do.  Birthday I aren't the biggest fan but Katy is similar to Gaga in the sense that the music video's always bring the song to life much more so I will wait and see. 

As for Unconditional being the second single and a sort of Teenage Dream 2.0 I feel a little underwhelmed, I would have loved something a little more fun and bubbly like TD.

Really can't get into this album. I feel like "This is the darker side of Katy, time to be an adult, more serious, etc" -- that idea she kept trying to push leading up to the album's release -- just meant "Teenage Dream was bop-bop fun, and Prism won't be." TD > Prism

 

I'm not trying to throw shade. I'm glad so many people in here like it. Does anyone see where I'm coming from though?
