Taking myself here as reference point, im Catholic, my boyfriend is atheist. We don't have different views on the world or anything the only difference is that I choose to visit a church sometimes and pray but me being Catholic doesn't interfere in our relationship. I don't think it will in Katy's case either (unless her parents are those holy warrior kinda people). I dunno what religion you wanna drag here but I can only look at my own and I haven't heard the Pope asking me or any Catholics to be militant. I'm not dragging any religion. From example, Christianity has the great commission that calls all members to go out and actively convert. garnite 8 Posted December 29, 2013 Share Posted December 29, 2013 A lot of you need to realize that just because she says she isn't Christian, doesn't mean she doesn't believe in God. She identifies with deism, most likely, kind of like me. We believe in God, in a higher power. What she says makes perfect sense. I just gained an incredible amount of respect for Katy for coming out and saying this. she's actually not a deist. at first glance i thought so but when i read what she said she's clearly a theist. she believes in a personal god that intervenes ("to make her accountable" and she prays to it) not just a higher power. she just doesn't want to call it christianity but it's basically the same thing.
