    • I'm not sure... need to hear some music first and then talk about the image.

Its common knowledge Gaga's fascination for vintage music, fashion and entretainment icongraphy, so the other day ocurred to me this idea of her picking one of the greatest icons from the 60s/70s, the english supermodel Leslie Lawson a.k.a. Twiggy (also an actress and singer). Her unique and sucessful style that combines delicacy and edge opened up new horizons for femenine image and fashion at her time. Here some images:

Does she always need to refer to a specific older aesthetic/figure though?

Imo it only makes her look more inauthentic.

that's not an obvious conclusion.

I'm not saying she's doing it right now gurl, this more of a what if thread for the next era (next year).

That's too ARTPOPish and girly, im here for leather

Well if we look at her looks the past 5 months we can see she's pulling a more girly side of her.

that's not an obvious conclusion.

It kinda is in the case of Lady Gaga, who's more known for (allegedly) copying everything from the 80's onwards than her voice.

In the case of Gaga any inspiration will be taken as copying.

I'm not saying she should emulate an specific look, just inspiration, to take the spirit of it and adapt it into her own world.

I don't know about the whole era being like that, but I certainly do like the aesthetic on Gaga, especially here:

The double edged sword of Gaga's nature as a chameleon is that she gets through so many looks, but nothing stays for very long. But that's part of the fun - you truly never know what she'll look like next.

Those Twiggy pics look like they're from the 60s (unless some of them are from the very early 70s).

IDK though, it would depend on the direction of her music.

lol, randoms don't give a **** about this, maybe pop forum dwellers/Madonna stans.

I feel like Twiggy, and especially the Twiggy signature eyelashes, was already done by Marina and the Diamonds.

I feel like the 60s bubble-pop imagery was all the rage last year - now, I expect pop culture to go back to something darker. Like, goth. It has already begun.

They are indeed. Twiggy was big in the mid-60s, not 70s. The OP should be fixed to say 60s for the aesthetic its referring to!

I'm very over glossy 60s inspired fashion in pop culture, - however, I'd love to see some 70's bohemian realness from Gaga! Gaga looks great with natural make-up. Think Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks ....
