Haroon 49,685
Wasn't it because she was theatrical like the guy from Queen and they had a song called 'Radio Gaga' and she used to like it, like all of those things together equaled the "Gaga" part? The "Lady" part came from Goddess Starlight of course

Quasi 10,923
It's probably a combination of the first three choices. deprived from the gay slang GAGging because she knew people would GAG over her eleganza On a side note, talking about gagging, I'm always really afraid that when I come on this site I'll miss a "g" and type "gagdaily.com". I'm terrified as to what would come up. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas.

PartySick 159,948
I always thought it was one of her friends that sent her "Radio Gaga" when she was looking for a stage name and "radio" was misspelt and corrected to "Lady" and she responded with "Don't you ever call me 'Stefani' again!"It's from Radio Ga Ga, but I think Lady is auto-correct's doing. 🌸Flourishing and vibrant🌼

Elizabeth 450
It's a combination of the first two I think. She's obviously a huge fan of Queen, specifically Freddie Mercury, so I guess her theatricality is influenced by him somewhat, so it would make sense for her friends to give her a nickname in reference to a Queen song. Alien Tulip 12,428
Rob Fusari thought she was very theatrical and he would say "You're so Gaga" and she would respond "Like the queen song radio gaga?" and that's how her stage name started. She officially became Lady Gaga in 2006. It's weird to think that Lady Gaga isn't originally the blonde girl with bangs. Lady Gaga first started with long dark brown hair up to her butt and performed at bars.
