Didymus 34,379
January 2014, responding to the criticism of ARTPOP by "the critics".Full post on LM.com:"I've said before I don't understand critics but here's why: would you critic a dance show if you were not yourself a dancer? Would you critic an English paper if you did not speak English? Or a French paper if you don't speak French? Don't let these things bother you, because the concepts of ARTPOP I spent a lot of time and research a love on. By everybody will understand it, it operates in a place of love that sees the world as unified. It is simply a pleasurable experience for you to access if you choose. I don't believe that we are divided as people. If you criticize others you criticize yourself. If you compliment others you compliment yourself. We are one universe. We belong together. I love you monster these songs mean something important to me too."Big bag of bs imo, but anyway, it seems to have pleased a lot of fans.Source: https://littlemonsters.com/post/52d1c136a296c891188b45a9

Born This Way ha impact. I do agree that this didn't fit ARTPOP's theme at all, but I don't think she deserves all the criticisms because she said this coming from good intention. Didymus 34,379
Lemme expand before I get hated again:You can't criticize the content of an English paper if you can't speak English, but you can easily review other aspects of it: the font, the size and material of the paper, the structuring and organization of the different sections,...You don't criticize a dance show based on the technique of the dancers if you don't know anything about it. People who do just don't realize what they're talking about, but that's hardly something you can blame anyone for. Ignorance is usually not intended. It's perfectly possible to give your impression of a piece of work while stating at the same time that it reflects simply an opinion that must be incomplete by definition, and if that opinion is widely shared, a performer is wise to at least acknowledge it because at the end of the day, it is the audience that pays (attention). Also: if you don't care about negative reviews, then don't care about the positive ones either. An insult is as meaningless as a compliment, yet she clearly isn't interested in stressing that fact. She seems to argue that you're only fit to review an English paper if you speak English, but I'm sure that if you did speak English and your review was still negative she'd still disagree with it, ultimately leading to the pointless statement that you can only review ARTPOP if you were Lady Gaga because you're the one who made it. Jester 6,306
I think she had a point. If you're a forward thinker and a revolutionary, no one can to critic you because they just don't understand.Simplified, if you don't speak French, don't try critiquing a French paper, and start learning French first. Haroon 49,685
She was trying to make a comparison to people critiquing music who don't do music, but I don't think it was very correct Mainly because I don't believe that you need to do/know something to comment on it with your opinion Yes the more experienced you are and the greater knowledge you have in the field the better informed your critique will be
