display name 4,360
Music and other musicians as a whole lost my interest. Everything was just so bland. My sister was watching MTV, and the music video of "Paparazzi" simply captivated me. It was unlike anything else.
super ultra 878
I wasn't a choicewell, I'd like to write a really long paragraph about it but I'm too lazy...
Reno 79
I didn't choose Gaga, Gaga choose me.Exactly how I feel...Back in 2009 somewhere I was in apathetic, low self esteem state, and it just happened that Gaga was the right person to make me feel exited, and motivated again. Listening to her speech at the MB, looking at her performances with crazy outfits, how alive and expressive she was, it was addicting... And it made me feel better about myself. eifulien 2,956
Well, she was just one of the singers I liked up until 2013. I was excited for ARTPOP but I hadn't heard much details about it. Then came the anouncement and Applause which was good. But the point, the moment that transformed me was Swinefest. I became obsessed with the songs and her perfomances. I couldn't believe Aura, Swine and the moment she took off her wig and showed her real hair. It's her passsion about ARTPOP that made me believe she was more than the average popstar. She showed in this period/era how to fight and stand for the things you believe in despite what the others are saying/thinking about it. For me it was the realisation of freedom in whatever aspect you take it. Born This Way was the album that said it is okay to be yourself, you belong to this world, you are equally and deserve rightfully all your freedom. With ARTPOP Gaga actually demonstrated this freedom, she executed it. ARTPOP has taught and influenced me much more to be myself and accept who I am than BTW. Deal. hauntlikegaga 13
It literally just sort of happened over time & became so natural & wonderful that I've stuck with it for years now... She just makes me happier than anything else :)
Echo 327
Well at the time. She just had so many songs I heard and I went, "wait who sings this song?" they were super catchy. But I knew by the time I saw the VMAs, I liked her because of the catchy music and visuals. Kinda the same for Nicki, but I actually enjoyed her rapping and got the metaphors. (Simple as they can be sometimes).
ARTPOPchamp 292
Her undeniable talent, musically and artistically, her ability to tell a good story with music and film. I tend to follow people who actually have talent and don't resort to cheap behavior or manufactured ideas/music to be popular. She was always different from everyone else, but these days, she's starting to follow suit, she was always promoting the idea of being yourself and she was always being herself, now though, I feel she's trying to be like everyone else, it's kind of blah to be honest. Mariano 958
I didn't choose it, it really happened naturally. In fact I remember before I knew who Gaga was, when I see Poker Face on TV I used to change the channel, I don't know why :rip:
Arcane 208
Gaga's the most fascinating and had the best music out of all the pop girls to me. She was already ahead of the game or ahead of most artists. I also enjoy her performances, imagery and how her music's layered. She ticks all boxes while others lack that extra something to make me go wow. Muse and Franz Ferdinand are my favorite rock bands but Gaga's my favorite pop artist. Love Trumps Hate
loribb 338
Before Gaga, my biggest superstar obession was Madonna. Costumes, controversy, ,reinventions, videos, hairstyles etc. Then Gaga took her place, she changed the music, it was all rnb and hip hop back then and she brought dance, electronic music together with great superstar charisma since her early beginnings (I thought "yeah right" at that time), those outfits and shocking videos, everything she does has a story behind it etc But most importantly I fell in love with how good person she is, how much she cares not just for her fans, but she didn't forget her pre-fame friends (Lady Starlight for example) and still supports them, shows love for her family all the time, she never fights with other celebs....... She is a great activist and gives support to all those who feel different or bullied and does so much for LGBT She is the most talented superstar. She may not be the greatest singer, dancer, actress, best selling or best looking, but she is great in all of those things. She can sing almost every genre. I am looking forward to follow her in next 60 years (I hope she'll sing so long like Tony) (sorry if my english is bad but I'm less fluent since I don't have a chance to practice it and it's really late and I studied whole day )
Chromichiga 184
I love her music. And people try to act like they hate her, but once she announces an album, people get hyped about it and look forward to her performances on award shows and such. So, that's how you know an artist's music is revolutionary....I always look forward to her new songs.
