You have no idea how much the C2C tour will help Gaga

"But they won't like her pop stuff."

We do not know that. We do know that they will walk away with a better appreciation for her as a talent.

And so much of her music has its roots in the 1970s and 80s anyway, especially BTW and AP, I can certainly imagine a new audience rediscovering them.

I've always thought that CTC would save her from the
"basic untalented popstar" title. Like can you imagine how huge it is to have a collaboration with a jazz legend like Tony in your backround? I'm looking forward though to a rock album. She better make an album for every ****ing genre of music.

Gaga Presley:gaga:

Get ready for ARTRAP, ARTCOUNTRY, ARTDUBSTEP and ARTDEATHMETAL :gaga:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

A lot of u are bashing Gaga for doing nothing and only singing jazz with Tony. But have u seen any C2C tour videos? Most of the audience are older people that are not monsters. They probably didnt care much about Gaga and went there only because of Tony. But after seeing her they appreciate her talent.Thats a great opportunity for Gaga to attract more people that would be excited about her next album. And u know how old people recommend the music they like to friends so u better be grateful

thats it

"Old people"  LOL  If she is making her next album to attract older people that like jazz and Tony Bennett, then that concerns me.  Not everybody likes the same music and that's the way it should be.  Dayum, I hope Gaga is writing music for her generation and younger, with the odd 40 something liking it.  I don't care about 50, 60, and 70-year-olds ever liking her original music.

I want her relevant, ground-breaking, not trying to bring on the white hairs.  (Sigh).  I want her bad-ass like the Beatles when they went into their psychedelic phase many albums into their career, blowing people's minds with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band and Magical Mystery Tour, two albums nothing like all of their previous music they had done.  They certainly weren't trying to appeal to much older fans.  They were still peaking creatively and were counterculture with those albums, not mainstream older people music.

Rock on, Gaga.  Go crazy with your next album, an album that thrills creatively and musically that brings back legions of fans that loved you for your great quirky songwriting lyrically and once great melodies and hooks and music that alienates just as many people. .  .

Point taken.  But I don't care if they think she's talented or not and never have.  Do you think Bowie's fans cared if their parents thought he was talented or even that mature professionals thought he was talented.  Hell, no, they didn't back then because he was like nothing that had happened back then  They were actually horrified by his gender-bending and the effect they thought it was having on the youth who felt connected to him.

Do you think the Beatles fans wanted their parents to appreciate them?  Far from it.  They wanted to love something who spoke to them and foreign to the older generation

Again, I fell in love with Gaga because she was different, unique and fresh.  I guess as someone who loves avant-garde, I don't look at validation from the older generation as necessary.  I would love for the younger generation to click back into her, and for that to happen she needs to bring brilliance back to her music and fresh sounds, unlike what is out there, and not generic, chasing trends or trying to appeal to radio. I want brilliant melodies and hooks.  I wanted instruments used in different ways.   I want her in the forefront of music again but not for the masses of all age groups. I want to see excitement about something unique and hungry and that no one else is doing.

Maybe everything is just stuck to mainstream nowadays.  Maybe there will never be groundbreaking music again that provokes and is dissected by reviewers.  Pop is so watered down.

Cheek to.cheek also cleaned this fanbase. Glad that the fake monsters jumped-off the.ship. They don't deserve Gaga's incredible persona. :legend:

Actually If Gaga is true to herself and shows up with quality musicality, lyrics, and vocals, she will gain a wider fanbase even if she pushes the avant garde.  Above all the older generations value authenticity and talent. We grew up with those bands uou mentioned.  I personally want Gaga to be creative and unfettered, but actually most young people just care about "catchy Bops".

I doubt they'll like her other work though.

This. I can't imagine old people rushing down to the store to purchase her new pop album, hoping the can get a foil edition :gaycat:

True.  The kids loved the fact that their parents disliked the Beatles.  Even when the Beatles wore suits, their long hair made them look disrespectful to the older generations.  But that was just image, and older people started liking them after hearing them over time.  They learned that the Beatles actually had talent, once they got over the image.

I did not like Gaga because of her image, and my friends felt the same way.  We thought anyone who would take the name "Lady Gaga" and act and dress like a freak obviously has no talent and is just trying to make a living by attracting the attention of the media.  I finally discovered her talent in August 2010.   C2C and the Grammy performance was what made many others discover her.  Now, they will pay attention to her new releases and will like some of it even if it's new and fresh music for the young generations.  Older people don't just sit around watching Laurence Welk, they are open to new things.  This is a great opportunity for Gaga.  She can have a huge following spanning several generations, and I don't think she would need to water down her music to accomplish that.  The ice is broken, people now know that Gaga is talented, and that makes Gaga's future brighter than ever.

I live outside the space time continuum.

Kermit the frog

It's not gonna have much effect on GP, more on publicity. Critics will be forever on her side now and everyone will defend her in comments, saying she has an amazing talent. The new album will be really important with this aspect.

It was a genius marketing move to pair with Tony. Now I want the marketing moves to go and I want the real Gaga to come back.
