lego 44,165
when british people are mocked out here and we imitate them to make fun of them we always just talk about tea and crumpets and call eachother yanks so when i see british people use that word its like you're kinda just making us laugh at you even more i mean its like a black guy calling a white person honkey. even a white person would laugh at that we have a baseball team out here named the yankees so its really not an offensive word to us at all I know about Yankees. Well it's not offensive word, but it can be used in an offensive way. "...those bloody Yanks!" is not usually meant in friendly way. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Yank "Slang for male masterbastion" FreePalestine

Jan Kees (pronounced almost the same: yàn keis) is a traditional Dutch name. Holland ha impact thanks to the colonization of Manhattan. Also, Santa Claus is stemmed in Dutch culture too, Coca Cola made a Duch tradition by New Yorkers into a commercial and popularized Christmas like that. And doughnuts also come from Dutch. Not to mention broadway (brede wegh), harlem (haarlem), van dijk-avenue (?), Flushings (vlissingen), etc. On-topic: Awesome. Was really needed.
