I know about Yankees. Well it's not offensive word, but it can be used in an offensive way. "...those bloody Yanks!" is not usually meant in friendly way.

And 'yankees' is from Dutch anyways. Jan Kees (pronounced almost the same: yàn keis) is a traditional Dutch name. Holland ha impact thanks to the colonization of Manhattan.

Also, Santa Claus is stemmed in Dutch culture too, Coca Cola made a Duch tradition by New Yorkers into a commercial and popularized Christmas like that.

And doughnuts also come from Dutch.

Not to mention broadway (brede wegh), harlem (haarlem), van dijk-avenue (?), Flushings (vlissingen), etc.
