Serendipity 7,821
I can't believe how some of you are bashing @Creyk for stating his opinionEven Mariah got all 4 of her singles to #1 from her debut and could have broken the record if she triedHer songs were far from basic #1s =/= basic songs all the time See talent here-->http://bit.ly/2eqeUxK
Katsuki Bakugo 9,788
No because that will just make Monsters crazy with all the Gaga vs. Katy mess.I'd rather have people calling her "next level" for her musical quality than the amount of hits she has. It's pathetic and anyone who doesn't agree with me is probably (or should I say hopefully) gonna be very disappointed in Gaga's further evolution.I hope they do too! Gagafy 296
Do you think with the next era and RedOne's help, Gaga should express her superiority once and for all and go all out to get 6 #1's from a single album? I always read on here that Gaga is better than Katy in every single way (except for boob size, but she could fix that if she really wanted to), and now with her promising new management team get 6 #1's from the next album? I think it would give her really good press, and people would acknowledge her "next level" status, something that has been tarnished since the ARTPOP era. Also to be honest, she needs new hits. Yes Telephone and Just Dance are great songs but it would be nice if she had new successful songs to sing on her next tour. When performing, you can see that she is tired of performing those old songs over and over again but well, she has to include hits in the setlist So what do you think? Should Gaga go all out with the next era? Can she even achieve something like that? You need to know that'll be no way to do that. It's a rare feat that only Michael Jackson could do that. The 5 no.1 songs from MJ is purely from the album itself, no re-manufacturing with bunch of other famous artist to sell the singles again. The case for Katy Perry was very different. ET feat K.West was the single that achieved no.1 and you couldn't find this song on the album without Kanye. The hype was building up leading for the 5th no.1 for L.Friday night. It got into top 10 easily and with a remix with the legendary Missy Elliot throw in, the song became a no.1 a week after that. And no, Gaga wouldn't be able to do that. In fact, why an artist need that to be influential? She has the best album era for TFM without a no.1, winning big in MTV and Grammy. I'd say, just be herself, be true to herself and to the fans, and be a hardworking Gaga again. This is the formula that I've seen in TF, TFM and BTW, but lacking in ARTPOP. hausofmike 127
It's hard for her just to get a #1. She would never be able to do that. Just to get one #1 would take a miracle
Versace 7,959
Taylor can tie the record if she works hard. Bad Blood will be number one next week, if she release New Romantics next gives it a Vma performance the song goes number which leaves her with one more single that needs to hit the spot for her to tie the record. Sad thing is Style had potential to become a number one hit but with lack of promo and a meh video it didn't happen.
Klou 2,414
I think we should be happy if she can manage to get one #1 single.
Guest ARTPOPSlays
MUSIC NOT THE BLING I do feel like she will go all out for the next album. However, I don't think that it's a matter of out selling Katy
Gagafy 296
MUSIC NOT THE BLING I do feel like she will go all out for the next album. However, I don't think that it's a matter of out selling Katy i dunno why u all taking Katy as comparison, as Katy is only the more famous pop star in the States and Australia since as recent as 2013. Nobody bother her much in the europe and asia.
CharlieThomas 6
I think Gaga can if she wanted to ... But part of me things that she doesn't really care anymore for a number one. She could easily write another Bad Romance or Poker Face but who wants a world of the same old pop music. I don't hahaha xx
YeehawKylie 7,817
I don't get comparing Gaga and Katy. They're both in different places, but both of these places is evidently where each want to be. Lady Gaga has the critical acclaim and icon status, whereas Katy has the hits and pop princess status. Each come with different perks (Gaga gets Grammys, Katy gets more #1s). At the end of the day, I remember Gaga and her era's (which is why she would never pull a Katy and go for the #1s) more than I remember most of Katy's #1s. But again, no shade, I think they both aspire for different things and both are happy with what they got.
Dorothy Gale 7,575
I'd rather have a single that has actual impact (like a Born This Way or Bad Romance) than a stupid song like Teenage Dream or California Gurls that people won't remember in a few years. glittercorn 12
I don't think Gaga particularly cares about competition with other artists, and neither should we. I also don't think Gaga is likely to get loads more number one's because she's making music that isn't for the radio or the masses, like ARTPOP, and that's not a bad thing. She's finally focusing on what she wants to really do rather than what she needs to do to get more attention or establish herself; she's already done that. Whispering 18,865
This is a silly goal for an artist. I would rather her continue to follow her own vision and be someone who isn't marketed to eight to twelve year olds. Gaga is a little too left of center to have the kind if following KP of Taylor has, and that's more than okay with me!
Gypsy Life 118,907
Let's hope she gets a top 3 single next era before thinking of 6 #1s.
