There were several actors whose careers Corman launched: They include Robert De Niro, Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, Jack Nicholson and William Shatner. Corman also served as a mentor to then-relatively unknown film directors who would later become famous and successful, including Martin Scorsese, Ron Howard, James Cameron and Francis Ford Coppola. As a result of his success and fame, in 2009 Corman was awarded an Honorary Academy Award (Oscar) for his body of work.

For Roger Corman, one of film-making's most beloved treasures and whose brilliance has tremendously helped in shaping 'pop culture' itself in Hollywood by mentoring some of its biggest names, to praise Lady Gaga like that truly says a lot. It's a compliment one would rarely hear from someone who's highly respected within the entertainment industry for decades to a female singer-songwriter whose professional career hasn't even reached more than a decade.

It's true. I mean; who else could win a Traditional Pop Grammy, sell 1M copies of a Jazz album, get an acclaimed Oscar's pefomance, and marry a HOT MOTHER****ER at the same time?

No one.

And don't say Beyoncé. I've yet to see her get a Grammy outside of the Urban categories / marry a hot man.
