Animal shelters and even animal rights organizations are forced to euthanize animals as well for a variety of reasons. Not just because they're sick and could actually infect thousands of people, but also because they can't find a proper home for them and they become too expensive to care for.I get where you're coming from and it's painful to realize, but what happened to these hundreds of dogs is probably more humane and rational than the meat industry nowadays where animals are killed for food we don't need. You can't cure them after they got it ,for some people who didn't seem to understand, so once they have it, they are as good as dead already and they will infect other dogs or even human, they are dangerous.Is killing them like that the best way to handle it? Probably not from our comfy home but it might be the only way there. Rabies makes dogs violent, is incurable, and leads to a horrible and slow death.This happens all over the world, even in the US. Stray dogs are invasive and often dangerous, especially in this area where they are rampant and rabies is widespread.
