Serendipity 7,821
I hope this is not AP New Zealand's Six60 are now rubbing shoulders with some international heavyweights after signing a deal with Capitol Records. The band is also about to start a national tour which is almost sold out and the band currently has ten songs in the New Zealand Top Twenty. They began as a group of friends from Dunedin and the group has grown from covering other people's songs to writing their own. Their Facebook page now has almost 250,000 likes. Guitarist and vocalist Matiu Walters said it was another door opening for the band. "It's a huge opportunity for us - we're so, so happy about it," he said. According to bassist Chris Mac, the band were eagerly awaiting their first steps into the iconic Capitol Records building. "At one point we'll walk into the Capitol Building, and have like - a proper meeting, but at this point it's been Skypes and calls and emails. So..." Music industry expert Sarah Gandy said it was a big deal for a band to achieve this. "It's huge. when you sign up with the record company that has Elton John ... that's a very, very big win," she said. "It gets you into the US - such a huge market." http://tvnz.co.nz/entertainment-news/kiwi-band-six60-now-label-mates-katy-perry-and-elton-john-6313340 10/20 songs in the top 20, what kind of slayage Get ready, Capitol building their Maroon 5 See talent here-->http://bit.ly/2eqeUxK

Paper Planes 340
Capitol is notorious for signing these smaller acts and then paying them dust in terms of promotion and physical release strategies when they don't fit the mainstream radio mold in the United States. Mary Lambert, Broods, Troye Sivan, Emeli Sande, Little Daylight, etc. Don't expect anything too big yet. delete it fat
xoxo cupcakke 4,781
I can't believe I'm saying this but Maroon 5 >>>Not digging this band. I just searched up some songs and I think Carly Rae Jepsen would have another Top 10 hit before any of this band does. Their music is too lo-fi for the American mainstream
