Three albums and a career’s worth of success under her meat-stained McQueen belt later, here’s present-day Lady Gaga, no longer at the pinnacle of pop health but still standing strong in the shadow of her eight-track magnum opus

1. LG4 is next according to SPIN

2. The magnitude of her TFM era still overshadows her present work.

I never understood how they came out with a list with 200 albums. It's like they had to listen to every single song and determine which one is better and the thing is every album is unique in its own.

No Bey doesnt have enough good albums. Apart from Sasha Fierce, her albums are weak.

Kanye, Daft Punk, Nirvana :legend:

In Utero is better than Nevermind imo, but I understand why they chose Nevermind.

I agree with you  Nevermind is still my favorite album tho. :legend:

Like A Prayer is overrated, she has albums that are way better than that. And BTW is better than TFM :manicure:

Its not like they based the list on the actual music. :smh: Well, not entirely. other elements play a huge a role. For instance ; the album's social / political impact, or whether the album was a turning point in the artist's career..etc.

Nevermind is not Nirvana's best album.

Like a Prayer is not Madonna's best album.

But both albums were the seeds to these artists' most crucial years in terms of their legacy. - Nirvana gave birth to a new generation of alternative rock music & Madonna set new boundaries and morphed a new definition to pop stardom.

-------------------------

Anyway, i think Like a Prayer was genius based on these tracks alone:

This is great to see her peak work being recognized amongst so many amazing albums. I was shocked to see it one spot higher than Illinois by Sufjan Stevens which is one of the most acclaimed albums of the last 15 years lol. You might say #197 is low but it's actually quite amazing for a pop record considering this list took into account every album released in the past 30 years.

Some other pop albums on the list for comparison:

89. Madonna, Like a Prayer
101. Justin Timberlake, FutureSex/LoveSounds
111. Amy Winehouse, Back to Black
132. Michael Jackson, Dangerous
147. Taylor Swift, Speak Now

The Top 10:

10. Pavement, Slanted & Enchanted
(Matador, 1992)

9. DJ Shadow, Endtroducing…..
(Mox Wax, 1996)

8. Kanye West, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
(Roc-A-Fella, 2010)

7. Liz Phair, Exile in Guyville
(Matador, 1993)

6. Radiohead, OK Computer
(Capitol, 1997)

5. The Smiths, The Queen Is Dead
(Sire, 1986)

4. Daft Punk, Discovery
(Virgin, 2001)

3. Prince,  Sign o’ the Times
(Paisley Park / Warner Bros., 1987)

2. Wu-Tang Clan, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
(Loud/RCA, 1993)

1. Nirvana, Nevermind
(DGC, 1991)

YAAASSSS!!!!!  My two faves made the list!!!!  Guess The Fame Monster will always be considered Gaga's magnum opus, huh?  That's quite alright by me because I love Gaga's entire discography from The Fame to C2C!!!

I am beyond happy to see that Nirvana's Nevermind album is at the number 1 spot!!!!!!  :excited2: :excited2:  Nevermind is an amazing album that you should all check out.  The lead singer, Kurt Cobain, is the guy on my avatar.   :legend:

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.
