Born To Slay 10,996
OMG I hope you are right thoughIt would be nice to see Taylor and Britney slay the summer together now that we can't count on Rih anymore First 19 weeks of TTWE run: 20-9-23-22-13-8-9-11-3-6-8-7-7-9-12-15-19-24-25Pretty Girls could possibly repeat this if the play their cards right. But eith radio building as fast as it is, the video is coming tomorrow and the song is getting a billboard music awards performance next Sunday. Cupid Boy 410
I also wanna point out that Till The World Ends debuted at 20 with 117k but with radio, the video and some performances the song went on to sell 2.9 and become her second biggest hit (later bumped down to third by S&S) since her breakdown. The song is selling just 17k more then Pretty Girls first week and is probably only debuting slightly higher on the charts. So if TTWE can debut with similiar numbers and go on to be a big hit, then we should not count out Pretty Girls yet. Especially because the song is doing well on radio, has the video out tomorrow (which can help sales and streams) and has a major performance coming up. Give it a chance.but on that era , her label was Jive Records and now she's part of the RCA Records.her new label does little promotions for albums and songs that released by it .probably a lot of performances in reality show and a good music video can save her song from flop

A great video, a televised performance, a radio deal that got it off to a gr8 start on radio, etc.
Ayesha Erotica 1,725
Pretty Girls is a very average song that is extremely hyped by delusional Britney fans on breatheheavy who madly praise everything that Britney does without realizing that Pretty Girls is too bad to become a hit. It doesn't surprise me that Pretty Girls is dropping and declining on the charts... whenever Britney sings, she is fake live-singing or using pre-recorded vocals (which are labelled as "live vocals" by most of her fans), she barely does any kind of promotion. To her, PG probably doesn't matter and she was forced to make that single... The fact that PG is even charting is actually already an achievement since Britney does only minimum input Your boyfriend comes over with a bit of gun oil Says he wants to step on new soil
Jed 7,716
Not surprised at all. When I saw people on here shouting how it would be the summer hit that Fancy was I couldn't help but laugh. It's a decent song but it's nothing new so it won't be wholly embraced by the public. No one really cares about the Billboard awards and the video wont really make a huge dent either.what bothers me if this was anybody else Billboard would be ripping them apart. Like if Gaga's debut single off LG5 performed like this they would not be speaking so politely about it. Just goes to show that money can buy good reviews. blacklistedd 599
Tbh I think there are more important things to worry about than the Billboard chart position of a Britney/Iggy song. Not to mention the charts are determined by marketability rather than quality for the most part, as much as we'd like to validate our tastes in music in this way. Being away from GGD has really taught me that in the scheme of things, music is music and I couldn't give any less of a **** whether or not this singer is SLAYING and DRAGGING that generic ho. Like, no. The fact that music should be therapeutic and people always seem to get their panties in a knot over it is really backwards imo. I could only /wish/ an Iggy song's chart position was my primary source of concern in this life. Not to derail your topic, jsThis is a pop forum, a Lady Gaga forum. There are more important things to worry about than both but we're here anyway. The point you make in this post would be valid if you weren't a longstanding member on a pop culture based forum of which the topic of this thread is more than relevant to its users. Michael 533
This was written by Inquistr, they all hate Britney. The song is still growing on radio, and will rise after the video and BBMA's performance. Don't worry guys.
Mills 446
Not this article quoting random posts from Billboard's comment section as if it's from a professional industry insider for their views to weigh that much in disputing Billboard's own projections for the song. Singles leaving the top 20 on iTunes during its first week isn't unusual either. While its chances to become a smash or even a big hit have become less and less as shown by the early indicators available, plus the less than stellar chart performances of the lead artists' immediate previous singles, leaving the top 10 of the biggest online music retailer doesn't automatically translate to guaranteed pure chart failure of which this article badly wants to project. ryhanna 3,507
Seems a bit Madonna-ish. Teaming up with a flavour of the month artist to boost appeal, only for the song to not take off. I haven't heard the song yet, so I can't judge the quality. I'd give it a week or so before calling it a bomb though.
PaperIz 7,346
The song debuted on the mediabase pop radio chart at 23. It is also expected to debut within the top 40 on billboard. The video and the performance should help it rise. The people writing this sound pressed af. Either way, I enjoy the song even if it flops into oblivion. Britney just makes me happy no matter what.
