Didymus 34,380
Shared this video and I'll share it again. UN is a joke. This has no relation whatsoever to what is in the OP. I actually watched this video in full and, even though it's obvious that some concepts (incl. Zionism: laughable definition - completely false) and people are being completely misrepresented, it was rather interesting. The Zionist movement(s) is not easy to compare to the civil rights movement either, but these flashy comparisons of course are what makes propaganda so easy to consume. Of course, also failed to be mentioned, is the revocation of the now well-known and controversial resolution in 1991 and the care with which UN spokespersons have handled the Zionism/racism connection (Louise Arbour in 2008 f/e). Nevertheless, racism and whether or not it's connected to Zionism (a question which has received wide attention indeed and isn't as easy as Myers paints it) is not at all discussed in this thread and the article or the report on Palestinian casualties have nothing to do with it. As seen in the article, the UN and the report also condemn Hamas' takeover of the UN schools, so in this case it's not a one-sided story and there is nothing in the video that can prove that this UN report is unnecessary, biased or dangerous. Basically: ****ing stop.

lego 44,165
good Terrorist lovers. How are you different than any terrorist? And the silent approval of some others here. And the likes on comment up there which is dehumanizing Palestinian nation, while one has to choose his words when they talk about Israelis. tsk tsk tsk FreePalestine
hmm 979
Terrorist lovers. Go to live to IranNot that it's new to me, but you're an idiot. Approving of murder, especially of a civillian population is never right. Plus, entry from Gaza into either Egypt or Israel is very difficult, so it's not ordinarily possible for them to even get to Iran if they wanted to. AlphaMonster 1,806
The NERVE to compare the Armenian genocide with Israel handling Terror inside civilian population. Honey, it is the same thing open your eyes. Armenians were separatist aka terrorists in Ottoman Empire, they sabotaged Ottoman Armies, and invaded Turkish villages, killed civilians during WW1. And Ottoman Empire killed them in the same way Israel does... Ottoman killed civilians with terrorists too, just like Israel is doing.

The video is here only to show and prove how the UN works, regardless of the past-Durban conference or other absurd resolutions the the UN has made and are being mentioned in the video. That's it. It is a biased organization.I ask you to read Richard Goldstone's retraction from it's own UN report discussing this exact issue:http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/reconsidering-the-goldstone-report-on-israel-and-war-crimes/2011/04/01/AFg111JC_story.html
Woolfsmck 2,763
The accountability and accuracy of the events is in question. I don't trust all the Palestinian sources , especially the Hamas influenced ones. Neither does Israel seem to be genuine in their efforts either. I can't see any real resolution to the accusations and claims without unbiased observers and neutral intervention. Hamas and the PA should stop any weapons buildup and attacks completely, this will prevent Israel from using it as an excuse to annex more land. Its like the Baltimore riots imo.... The cops are criminal in their handling of detainee's , but all the looting and burning prevents people from looking at them as the victims. like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. The worst conflict in that report was about 29 civilians that were killed due to a mistake. The report that should be under discussion is about the repeated, intentional murder of innocent civilians and UN staff.I agree with everything that is said in the article, but I really fail to see how anything in it could dismiss the current UN report as biased or irrelevant. Even if there is a bias (although the UN has openly condemned Hamas' practices more than once since 2011), that still doesn't legitimize war crimes and the repeated breaking of international law on the part of Israel. The 2014 violence was out of proportion which is the only reason why the UN report was made. And, like the spokesperson for Israel itself has said: the report clearly documents the use of the UN schools and shelters by terrorists. So.. Where's the bias here? Did you even read the OP?So will you please talk about the report itself because nothing you have said so far is on topic, relevant or worthy of serious attention. Everything that I've said so far is clearly on topic, it is just your selective thinking that makes you prefer to ignore it. The UN is a joke. Nothing more. It is a body that has become disabled due to manipulates. It cannot stop conflicts anymore. Second, no one has any evidence to proof Israel killed UN staff or civilians on purpose. Neither you. We do have evidences pointing Hamas uses UN building for its own vile purpose.

The UN is a joke. Nothing more. It is a body that has become disabled due to manipulates. It cannot stop conflicts anymore. Ignore it? I'm the only one in here that actually watched your video and read your link and I agree with most of it (the misrepresentation of facts from the video aside), so don't tell me I'm ignoring it. The ability of the UN to stop conflicts is not under discussion here. The report is and it has been acknowledged by both Israel (and partly by Hamas). As for your proof of Hamas' vile use of UN buildings: I already told you twice that the report documents this too and that it has been praised by Israel for doing that, so why do you keep coming back with that? I guess I can summarize your opinion by saying that the independent board of inquiry that made the report is made up of liars even though local reporters confirmed that UNRWA officials gave precise coordinates for the shelters to the Israeli army more than once per site already a year ago, again now confirmed by the inquiry which has checked and confirmed all UNRWA statements made in 2014, including involuntary school attacks such as the one in Rafah. Doesn't sound very convincing to me.

lego 44,165
On July 30, Israeli strikes tore through the walls of the Jebaliya Elementary girls' school, which was crowded with sleeping war refugees. Some 3,000 Gazans had sought refuge there. A series of Israeli artillery shells hit before daybreak. A classroom became a scene of bloodied clothing, bedding and debris. The inquiry says 17 or 18 people were killed, including a U.N. staff member and two of his sons. "No prior warning had been given by the government of Israel of the firing of 155 MM high explosive projectiles on, or in the surrounding area of the school," the inquiry says. A spokesman for the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees said in a statement, "The inquiry found that despite numerous notifications to the Israeli army of the precise GPS coordinates of the schools and numerous notifications about the presence of displaced people, in all seven cases investigated by the Board of Inquiry when our schools were hit directly or in the immediate vicinity, the hit was attributable to the IDF." Spokesman Chris Gunness added, "In none of the schools which were hit directly or in the immediate vicinity, were weapons discovered or fired from." Didymus 34,380
So you basically acknowledge Hamas' use of UN schools and building for firing rockets and hiding weapons while still saying Israel is committing war crimes for attacking these sites? But.. I'm not condemning Israel for attacking empty UN schools that are used by Hamas for hiding weapons and using them as a shooting basis, I agree with the report on that: it is unacceptable and the lack of security around them is actually to blame. But I agree with the report as well that refugee shelters with hundreds of innocent civilians, protected by the UN, shouldn't be attacked. I'm willing to believe that the Rafah incident was an accident, but it doesn't explain the other attacks, especially since no weapons were found in the shelters after the attacks. I guess you're not gonna believe that, but I wasn't there, I didn't do the research and I'm not ready to believe yet that the independent board of inquiry spending months of research in the area are simply lying, especially since they did research separated from the UNRWA (a source that must be doubtful at all times) and found their statements to be correct. All of what I'm saying is in the OP, so I really don't understand why you have to throw it at me like this is gonna somehow defeat my point.
