This is an example of Cruz trying to drum up support from his base. Statistically speaking the majority of individuals in the Democratic Party identify as Christian. His statement is factually incorrect.

​Well according to his wikipedia page he never assumed US citizenship and got naturalized some years into his adulthood because his parents raised him in Canada and intended on staying there.

Are people allowed to be like "Nuh, I don't need citizenship rn, thanks." and then 25 years later be like "Hey this comes in handy!!! Of course I'm a citizen of the USA!!!!"?

I would love to see what Cruz would say if a black man born in an Africa country to an American mother and a non-American father tried to run for President. I feel like suddenly that wouldn't be okay, even though that hypothetical person would have the exact same situation as Cruz, just with an African country instead of... Canada.

It's funny because Obama who was born on US soil to an American mother but African father was harrassed by birthers.

Separation of church and state seems to mean little to many people; some people even think we should have religion in schools again.  If you want that, send your kid to some private religious school.  It shouldn't be forced on everyone.  Government, school, everything public should be as neutral as possible.  I absolutely hate when Christians think they have the right to be dominate in the country.

​That's a pretty astute observation. Every election season is the same. The Democrats usually try to find a candidate who will appeal to people across party lines while the Republicans send out their parade of extremist, polarizing clowns. You'd think they would have learned by now.

​Over the next few years, I'm thinking they will and the entire party will become more moderate. They have to, they'll never win another national election again if they continue supporting people like Ted Cruz. Marco Rubio is a step in the right direction (especially with his fluency in Spanish) but his social views are what ****s him up. 

Really what we need is a greater variation of parties and end this two-system nonsense.

Waiting for them to wake up and see the light tbh  It doesn't matter how decent-good your ideas for foreign policy and the economy are if you literally dont even believe in equal rights for everyone  .

Like tbh, make all the Republicans go through a Gender/Women's studies class, as well as race-relations seminar and learn about the concepts of "Privilege" and they'd see the light, im sure  I mean, the ones who aren't already super corrupted by money
