Are you worried about Giorgio Moroder working on LG6?

I think you misunderstood my post. I was just talking about the number of albums Gaga has released. But anyways, I agree you on Giorgio's recent pop music. It sounds bland and uninspired.

I agree, I can hardly tell the difference between him and Zedd.

I had the same worry. Moroder's sound is very old-fashioned and straightforward (not a bad thing), while Gaga's is more futuristic and otherworldly. But I have faith that the two of them will create magic together.

If you are talking about Britney's song, then all of madeon's and zedd's songs on ARTPOP>>>

100% correct.

He didn't do anything on Random Access Memories but the recorded monologue.

Listen to that and tell me if you dislike disco still.  :lolly:

But he gave the ok to the whole song, clearly. It's named after him and all the words is his dialogue. He probably wouldn't allow it to be put out if he didn't like the music it was put with.

Sorry, but that kind of music still doesn't do it for me. More danceable than some disco, but ultimately not enough for me.

i completely agree about your thoughts on the Daft Punk album. Spill that tea. I kind of feel the same about disco as well lol.

So many people jumped on the bandwagon and I can't help thinking they were just saying what they thought they were supposed to. The album's been all but forgotten about now. I think the failure of all the follow-up singles proved that Get Lucky was just a one in a million success that can't be explained or repeated. Every so often, a song comes along that the public goes nuts over even though it's not what they usually like. But they're not loyal to the sound or its creators. RAM got a lot of sales which wasn't expected but they were clearly all bought on the strength of Get Lucky. I have the impression sales wouldn't have been as strong had most people streamed it beforehand.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way about disco. I have family who lived through the 70's who felt the same way - un-danceable music with no soul that all sounded the same. How some people called this stuff "groovy" or "funky" is beyond me. I could list off the top of my head all the good disco songs there are. Give me something like Play That Funky Music and I have to hold myself down from getting on that dancefloor. Put that song on at any gathering and the dancefloor fills to the brim. Put on some of the more middle of the road, monotonous disco tracks, and the dancefloor clears. There's got to be lots of variation to a song to provide a good base for dancing and a genuinely funky beat, an interesting story and an electric guitar solo certainly makes for a great disco song to dance to. But those 8 minute ones that are nothing but a cheesy beat on loop with one cliche chorus over it from beginning to end? Who can dance to that?

What bothered me about the album was that they were praising their own work as something new and innovative when it sounded 30 years old. They also complained about recycling pop trends in today's music which really confused me since that was the basis for the whole album :awkney:
