"When I began doing this film, I had an uneasy feeling inside of me and I felt so conflicted," she said. "We talked to the producers about our concerns. They just told us, 'If you guys are so sensitive, you should leave.' I was just standing there and got emotional and teary-eyed. I didn’t want to cry but the feeling just came over me. This is supposed to be a comedy that makes you laugh. A film like this should not make someone feel this way.”

“Nothing has changed,” said Young. “We are still just Hollywood Indians.”

Wow. That is really offensive. I think the only time you can make fun of one race is if you make fun of EVERY race in a film. It erases the idea of a majority and shows that every race is capable of stereotypes. I think the incorrect feathers is less important since it is a satire, but if it is just white people stepping on natives then I think it's wrong.

The problem is treating a race of people like a joke. If it were a few people in all races that would be different, but by making the Natives the butt of the jokes is racist.

I'm not sure why you think you have authority in telling Native Americans how and to what level they should feel in regards to their own portrayal?

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

There's sharing an opinion and then there's invalidating the experiences of a people group you probably can't relate to, unless you're Native American.

They should have walked off the set the minute they found out that it was an Adam Sandler movie.  :lolly:

And people seem to focus so much on this "cultural appropriation" issue of the black community when the rampant racism against the Native Americans are continuously swept under the rug.
